You didn’t think that Sony’s big Gamescom 2014 press conference represented the last of the year, did you? As you should already have learned by now, the Japanese giant loves a good livestream, and, as such, it’s set to host another one on 1st September ahead of the Tokyo Game Show. This same presentation last year saw the announcement of the PlayStation TV.
Exactly what it will reveal is still under wraps, but Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida recently hinted that it will be focusing on its next-gen format at TGS in order to try and boost its sales overseas. There has been some speculation regarding a big exclusive game, but details are shaky. One thing that you won’t see is The Last Guardian.
The media briefing will start at 15:00PM JST (07:00AM BST/02:00AM EST), so ensure that you make a note in your diary. Of course, we’ll have all of the news from the event, as well as a livestream, so you won’t miss a thing. What are you personally hoping to see during the show? Scream Gravity Rush 2 in the comments section below.

It never ends!
With the Tearaway ps4 announcement I really wouldn't be surprised if Gravity Rush 2 was announced as a ps4 exclusive. Would defo help sales in JP at least.
I can't say I'd be ecstatic if that was the case though.
@Snorky I'm starting to think Gravity Rush 2 may become Gravity Rush 1.5 (a bit like Tearaway Unfolded) on the PS4. I want to say Toyama tweeted about making a "kind of" Gravity Rush sequel. I think they'll probably remake the original game, and extend on it.
Either way, surely this is the place for the announcement?!
@get2sammyb You'd best stock up on that coffee, TGS and this, poor you!
Well this image just became fact:
I can't blame them, I already predicted Vita would be phased out everywhere, especially in Japan where PS4 needs to be rescued immediately.
@get2sammyb Hmm yeah you're probably right. Remastered edition featuring all DLCs etc. I think Gravity Rush is too good an IP for Sony to let it just die out on Vita (as much as it pains me to admit it).
That said though, surely Sony must be feeling some pressure from the many Vita owners given the lack of attention at its recent conferences. I hope that they give the handheld at least some attention during the Tokyo show.
"Even more Vita announcements incoming"
What were the first Vita announcements?
Vita announcements........
@Punished_Boss That image is brilliant.
I love the Vita, but its pretty clear than no Vita annoucements are coming from Sony
@get2sammyb include central timezone. LOL
@Dodoo Honestly. I can't tell if Sony is purposely disrespecting Vita owners or if they're just plain dumb.
We might get a Gravity Rush 2 announcement but that'll be it for Vita
No actually, they'll probably end up announcing that game for PS4 instead.
Based on how great the announcements have been at gamescom and E3 I'm expecting even more amazing Vita news at TGS
** waits or crowd laughter to die down
Thanks folks! I'll be here all week.
Release date for tekken!
Keeping my Vita expectations low like Gamescom...
Leaving reality behind for a few moments.
Sony has successfully and exceptionally trolled all Vita users by stating that they may no longer produce AAA games for the misunderstood system. When in fact they will announce at TGS the following.
GTA Vita
God Of War Vita
inFamous Vita
MGS Vita
New entries for:
Uncharted Vita
Killzone Vita
Also several New AAA IPs.
Imagine!!
