Sega was ready to tease us with more than just pictures of Yakuza Zero during Sony's pre-Tokyo Game Show conference earlier today. Coming to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 during Spring 2015 in Japan, the title's set prior to the events of the first game. Staring a fresh faced Kazuma Kiryu who's working his way up the crime ladder as a debt collector, the trailer shows us the release's brutal side.
Players will also be able to play as Goro Majima, known as the Emperor of the Night, who's on the opposite end of the criminal hierarchy. While recent Yakuza titles normally revolve around a couple more characters, only these two will feature in Zero, giving us an in-depth look at both leads as the narrative focuses on the conflicting development interests during the economic bubble. Hoping to appeal to the nostalgia of the 30 and 40 plus demographic of the franchise, loads of 80's stuff has been kept intact for everyone to reminisce about as well, including black bin bags.
Here's hoping that we'll be able to play this one day here in the West, but until then, the video that we've embedded will have to do. Would you buy into this prequel? Leave your memories of the series in the comments section below.

Announce this for the West, Sony and Sega, I'll pre-order and be first in line on day one to buy it. Promise!
I was pleasantly surprised by Yakuza 4 when I impulse bought it a while back, so I'd happily give this a shot.
Despite all its flaws the original Yakuza was so enjoyable I'd put it in my top 10, maybe 5 all-time favorite PS2 games.
i doubt it will come to the west, none of the other have come out after the zombie game
@johnny30
Yeah unfortunately Western gamers never got into the series, Sega does do unexpected stuff sometimes though. I'd love if they gave Westerners one more chance.
Sega: Here is another game that, we could be bring to the West but, we don't feel like it
Uh...the audio's scrambled for me. Damn it, I need my Yakuza fix!
