Microsoft may have built a $2.5 billion brick wall around the Minecraft franchise, but it seems that there are no changes to Sony’s plans, as it’s announced that a retail version of the game’s recently released PlayStation 4 Edition will deploy on 3rd October in Europe and 7th October in North America. The physical outing will be accompanied by a day one patch, though it’s unclear what that will change.
Perhaps as a measure to allay insecurities among the PlayStation fanbase, the platform holder also mentioned that the Vita version is still very much on the way, and more information will be outlined about that over the coming weeks. In case you haven’t picked up the game yet, don’t forget to check out our review through here – and we’ve also put together a handy Trophy guide if you’re not already a master bricklayer.

Thanks Microsoft
What the.... too late, I bought the digital version, lame.
Yes!, least now I don't have to thret aboutit not coming to retail.
@Punished_Boss Christ I am all these comments against Sony towards Minecraft. It makes no sense why you lot need to lower yourselves to that level of intelligence. I should imagine that this was decided before the buy out AND if you did your research rather than leaving "clever" comments you will know that the full deal will not go through until 2015 and the guy in charge of Minecraft has not changed. So let it go, M$ own Mojang big deal. Don't like it but a damn Xbox and sell your PS4!! Sort of comments I see on IGN or reddit :/
😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝
@ZeD
1. Take a chill pill...
2. Chilled?
3. You with me?
4. Joke. It was a joke.
I'm aware of the details surrounding the deal.
@Punished_Boss ahh so that is what you character is on here. The jester! 🎉😝🎉 (this is just based upon your last few comments ). Just don't want to see PS turn into NL (or ign at that. Damn their comments are crazy!)
@ZeD Turn into NL? I think the staff is converting this place into Pure Xbox rather than Nintendo Life. They're covering Rise of the Tomb Raider, Call of Duty Advanced Warfare on X1 & Minecraft after 'investments' have been made... I think they're slowing turning us to the dark side Seriously it will take more than NL's community to convert me to coo coo cray cray, which not everyone is.
@Punished_Boss Hey, I haven't mentioned Tomb Raider for weeks! Or Advanced Warfare!
What's wrong with NL? It's a far sight better than IGN. O_o
Anywho I like my download version better because I don't need to get up to switch discs, and I am usually all for physical copies. I don't know what makes Minecraft different except that I play it so often it's nice to have quick access.
I really wonder if, the Retail version will be more expensive than the Downloadable version since, I personally don't care about needing to download if, I can save some bucks
@TheLobster I agree, I love having Destiny in the Dvd drive and being able to change from Minecraft/Destiny without moving!!...dam how lazy am I haha 😝
@get2sammyb Right, you're wavering on mighty thin ice, I'll be watching you like a boss
@TheLobster NL is fine at times, community is certainly bit touchy at times, reactional to third party news.
@Midzark That's my exact setup!
@Punished_Boss Ah, yeah, that's true. But I think that's just going to be the nature of a Nintendo site almost.
@Punished_Boss To be honest NL handle some third party articles badly like Project Cars, the amount of articles with screens or videos saying how pretty it is when it isn't Wii U material is bizarre but yes some of the community are a bit touchy.
