We all know that the PlayStation 4 hasn’t been selling especially well in Japan of late, but Sony hinted that this year’s Tokyo Game Show would turn the tides – and it certainly seems that consumer enthusiasm has changed overseas, even if that may not necessarily result in increased hardware sales.
As is customary at the end of every Eastern event, the Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association has revealed the consumers’ top twelve most anticipated games – and at least eight of them are PlayStation exclusives, with a couple more multiformat releases, too. Not a bad result at all, huh?
Leading the charge are Bloodborne and, incredibly, The Order: 1886, both of which are exclusive to the PlayStation 4. They’ve been accompanied by the likes of God Eater 2: Rage Burst, Tales of Zestiria, and Yakuza Zero. PlayStation Vita exclusive Phantasy Star Nova also put in an appearance, as did The Evil Within and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
We’ve included the full list of winners in the space below, though it is worth mentioning that Nintendo doesn’t traditionally exhibit at TGS, so its titles are missing from the list; clearly, this lineup wouldn’t be quite so dominant if the Japanese company did. Still, we doubt that Sony will be complaining – it was a very good show for the firm.

Thats what happens when you have no competition, you win by default.
@Punished_Boss - Thats what I was thinking, thought it was nice of Sammy to throw Nintendo a bone. I wonder if SSB 3DS would have made the list if it hadnt just released since MH4U is on the list?
I want Godzilla, FFXV, KH3, Uncharted 4, TLG, DQ:H and BG&E2, all future PS4 games, but none of them are on the list, so Im guessing this is limited to "immediate future at the show" games.
Edit: ops, my mistake, looks like Godzilla is PS3 only:

I know fftc might not be there but I am surprised no FFexplorer there, isn't that popular?
The Order: 1886? Cool because it seems to just get slagged off by the gaming media for reasons i don't get.
Cool that The Order 1886 got an award. Going by the list, it seems to be rare to get an award for a western game, so congrats to Ready At Dawn I'd say!
I wonder what people found appealing about the demo, since it was the same old demo as E3 demo of which we already saw footage of, from a long time ago. And that demo looked a bit boring, honestly. The thermite rifle is cool, but apart from that it's nothing special.
Anyway, I think it's promising for the final game. One thing that we know for sure already is that this game will have fantastic art direction and stunning graphics. Hopefully we'll see more of the weapons and gameplay in the upcoming months.
And on a sidenote, I still think The Order 1886 is releasing in a dangerous window. It should be delayed to March. February already has The Witcher 3, Evolve and SCE's own Bloodborne.
I want that yakuza zero :0
@Cyrso I don't think the Order is directly competing with any of those games as it is a different genre. RPG fans will either get Witcher or Bloodborne, the competitive FPS guys will get Evolve and the Order will be for Uncharted like action adventure fans.
@Mr0303 I think a lot of players have a pretty broad taste rather than just sticking two one genre. Bloodborne and The Order 1886 are also pretty similar in style and they both target an 18+ audience of core gamers. I don't think most players just stick to one genre.
You're right they're different genres, but I'm sure there's still some overlap in their target audience.
@Cyrso You are quite right that Bloodborne and the Order have similar themes - Victorian England, monsters and knights.
Maybe this was a strategy from Sony to stop the "PS4 has no games" myths by oversaturating the market just a bit.
@Cyrso I'm rather slow 'finishing' a game and usually like playing a game for months but I will get Bloodborne , the Order and the witcher day one and I'm sure many will do. I think the release dates are actually ideal for a really great month of gaming
