Do you hear that in the distance? We're not exactly sure what it is, but it's probably either the sound of millions rejoicing as Destiny finally enters the Earth's atmosphere, or the sound of the PlayStation Network crumbling like the soggiest biscuit that you can possibly imagine. Either way, next week's going to be a big one, so this weekend may be our last chance to spend some quality time with our beloved consoles before we jet off into space.

Three weeks in, and I'm still charging around Eorzea like a lunatic in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. Why am I rushing my latest fetch quests, you ask? [No one asked, but carry on - Ed.] Well, not only are they incredibly boring, but a little game called Destiny is out next week, and so this epic tale has to come to a temporary, but agreeable end.

My incoming weekend is jam-packed with a whole mess of that horrible 'life' stuff, which means I won't have a huge amount of time to play games. However, if I do finagle an hour or two I might give Velocity 2X a quick shot. Word on the street is that it's pretty good.

With my white PS4 landing on Tuesday, it's my final backlog push before the big day. I'm hoping to finally wrap up Murdered: Soul Suspect, but if my hubby finishes with Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, these well laid plans could go out of the window.

This weekend will be spent in a mad dash to get my Demon Hunter to level 70 In Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Ultimate Evil Edition. Failure to reach this target by the time Destiny lands next week will likely mean it won't happen until October, as all of my gaming time — when not on review duties — will be spent busting my moves in the Tower.

In the lead up to Destiny, I just don't have a whole lot that I really want to play. I've been playing Metro Redux for about two weeks now, though, and there's still some stuff in there that I haven't gotten around to! Ideally, I'd like to have that completed before Destiny's release!

There's really only one good answer to what are you playing this weekend: Minecraft on the PS4. Yes, I am a bit addicted, but as soon as Mojang's creation makes its way unto the PS Vita, the sooner I can allow it to completely consume my life. [Goes back to mining]

As I eagerly await my copy of Destiny in the next few days, I'll keep on trekking through bits of Mass Effect and Metro Redux over the weekend. If I happen to have some free time, I'd also like to give Velocity 2X a test run, especially since our very own Matt Growcott gave the game a rare 10/10!

Minecraft is finally here for PS4 and Vita, so I will be blocking out the real world for a couple of days. I will also be playing Velocity 2X and having lots of family fun in Sportsfriends. It's gonna be a packed weekend!
That's us taken care of, but what about you? Do you plan on sitting down with a few favourites this weekend, or will you be struggling to finish off a couple of games before Destiny blasts its way into our lives? Let us know in the comments section below.

My plans for gaming this weekend:
PS3 - Diablo III Reaper of Souls: Ultimate Evil Edition.
PSVita - Don't Starve, Sword Art Online: HF, Atelier Rorona Plus.
I'll be spending most of my gaming time this weekend plugging away at Persona 4 Golden on the vita. Currently about 1 game month in, and it has definitely got it's hooks in!
If I can pull myself away from that, it'll be to carry on TLOU, or to have a go at V2X.
Minecraft (XB1, it only cost £3.59)
Tales of Xillia (need to finish it before I play Xillia 2)
One Piece Unlimited World Red (PSVita, doing the Colosseum mode)
and I might mess around on the Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution Demo as the game is out Friday, get some practise in
@SteveButler2210 Glad you'e liking Persona 4 Golden — absolute masterpiece in my opinion.
PS4 Minecraft and Watchdogs, probably other stuff. Football Manager on PC.
I'm gonna be playing Velocity 2X-very awesome game. Much better than the other Velocity games. And imma be getting back to playing Gravity Rush. Still haven't finished it, I don't even know what to do in it.
Played some diablo last night - definitely more fun than I expected.
Today I'm leaving for a brief vacation so I was trying to decide between my 3ds and vita. Think I'm gonna go with my vita and try velocity 2x, fez, muramasa, dragons crown, or if all else fails, FF7.
Ill be playing Transistor, Battle Arenas in First Light, Minecraft PS4 and Velocity 2X, sprinkling Live streams here and there.
@ztpayne7 Good call, I recently started FF 7 on my Vita and its so easy to sink 5 hours in at a time without realizing it. That plus Velocity 2X will serve you well.
I just got a new card for my pc and started up skyrim just to see what it looks like on ultra setting. Well, now I can't stop playing it, damn skyrim. It's going to take some Destiny to put out the skyrim fire.
Dragons Crown on PS3 w/ my kids.
I'm still trying to perfect the last levels for Velocity 2X, so it's gonna take all my time.
I'll certainly be playing Minecraft with a friend or two. It's been the only thin I've been playing on my PS4 since it came out/
Earlier in the week I started my third playthrough of Mass Effect 3 on my Wii U, so I'll probably finish that up this weekend. I'll probably also spend some time with Forza 4 as well.
Diablo and maybe PS All-Stars if I take the time to download it.
@3Above @ztpayne7 you see the FF7-9 Prima box set coming this fall? I'm drooling. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/1101898046/ref=ox_sc_saved_image_1?ie=UTF8&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
@headsupkid01 cool, what kinda card? Mod that sh*t and use a DS3. Just mind the load order or it'll crash every time you play it lol. Skyrim PS4 port, anyone?
I'm playing
Xenosaga Ep 1, Silent Hill 2 HD, Homecoming, Origins ps2 (much prettier than PSP [duh]), and some GTA 5 as I found cheap guides for each of them. I'll let my ps4 recuperate a little
I wish I was as excited about Destiny as others seem to be. One of the things I hate about getting older is that it's gotten extremely difficult to have consistent gaming sessions with friends (outside of a few hours of online shooters here and there), so it's hard for me to get any value out of co-op games (much less MMOs, not that I like MMOs anyway). Oh well...there's always Shadow Warrior later this month on PS4 :0
Me: Metal Gear Saga.
Will be getting a ps vita this week, wich games should i play on it? I also have a ps4, ps3, 3ds, Wii u so i need some vita exclusives
@LajnuD This is embarrassing, i don't have an exclusive i can wholeheartedly recommend
Fight Night Round 3 (360) - Been a long time since I played a boxing game.
Final Fantasy X HD on my Vita, Mario Kart 8 on my Wii U and, if I have the time, Saints Row IV on PS3.
First Light and Metro for me. Once I put down velocity. Which I totally can. At any time. I'm completely not addicted to velocity in any way. Honest.
Haha STILL trying to complete TLOUR on grounded, keep freaking out and using precious bullets
PS4 — Velocity 2X — Really enjoying this game alot. Probably the best Indie game on the PS4 right after Resogun.
Xbox 360 — Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting — Played this last night online with a coworker would have done good if my buttons were mapped correctly :/
Guacamelee STCE — Been playing this one with my son alot. Great game
Wii U — Mario Kart 8 — Online mode as usual
3DS — Warioland II — Still playing this one mostly at night when I am in bed winding down for the night.
@punished_boss
Damn that is a letdown
i will be working.....................and minecraft ps4 mixed with some diablo 3
Ni no Kuni and probably Fez on the Vita.. if there's still time, maybe Beyond: Two Souls.
a mix-up of ps4 minecraft, infamous first light and soon destiny.
I am playing both Tappingo games on my 3DS. I may continue playing Wolfenstein the New Order with my bro. Whenever you get killed there is a German message displayed, so he is using it as a way to practice a little German (searching for a translation on his tablet) and I get to learn as well.
Minecraft yay!! PS4!!
@LajnuD Gravity Rush is easily my fav Vita game, and Uncharted Golden Abyss, Killzone Mercenary ( the best handheld fps ever made IMO). I hope you have PS Plus, that makes owning a Vita soo much better.
Diablo on PS4
Velocity 2x on Vita
I just realized I have TLOU Left Behind DLC to finish, so I guess I'll be playing that on my PS4 tonight. I will get Destiny Tuesday, but probably won't play it until Wednesday all day since its and early out for school that day, and then I probably won't touch it again until next weekend.
I'm still hooked on hotline miami so i'll probably try to finish that and i started playing Velocity 2x. I'm liking it for the most part but the teleporting is hard for me to get used to. I love the shooting aspect of it though.
Played velocity 2x its pritty good but probably wont be spending to much time on it.
I'm begining to play Disgaea series, hahaha. Even with Disgaea 4 being released for Vita, I've started with Disgaea: Afternoon of Darknes for PSP. God save PSP!
Ps4 - playing first light right now. I loved second son. I wish there was a lot cooler side missions in the game but it was really fun. I love any games with cool superpowers. Gonna try to platinum it.
Xbox one - finishing off metro redux, I've got about 1400 gamer score out of a possible 2000 so far so it's been pretty sweet. I'm near the middle of last light right now. Also when the wife wants in on some gaming time I'll be playing diablo ultimate edition with her trying to finish act 3... and finally playing some coop with some buddies on warframe . I can't belive how much I like this game. I tried it on ps4 when they launched it last year but it has come such a LONG way from then and it's great. I've even spent some cash on the game to support the devs.
And last but not least on my vita when laying down before bed I've been playing ff10 remastered. Wow when I write all this down it shows just how much gaming I do. Nuts lol.. but I mean I don't watch TV at all really so it's really just a substitute for me.
@LajnuD Uncharted Golden Abyss, Killzone Mercenary, Gravity Rush, Wipeout, Persona 4....ehhh I can't think of much exclusives but the Vita has great games.
@FullbringIchigo Lol did you say that last week? (Naruto demo)
PS4/Vita- Velocity 2X
Xbox One- Madden 15
I was playing Transformers: Fall of Cybertron (just beat Chapter 07), but then I decided to get back to my reading roots.
I'll probably be on gaming hiatus until October at least, dunno for sure.
@LajnuD Tearaway, Killzone Mercenary, Persona 4 Golden, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Gravity Rush..those are a few I'd recommend. I haven't played most of these for myself, but I've heard they're great from others. But I can definitely say that Golden Abyss is worth the buy. For a handheld game, the gameplay and story definitely live up to the Uncharted name well enough.
Thank you guys for the tips, will try some of them out later this week
Fire emblem on Wii U and garden warfare on ps4
BF4, Killzone with a few dashings of Pure Pool inbetween.. waiting until midnight Monday though i doubt i'll be able to get onto destiny until Wednesday fun times.
Velocity 2X
Diablo 3 & Last of Us (PS4) and as always, Mario Kart 8 on the WiiU, because simply... You just cant stop playing that
Changed my mind, playing a mix of different VIta games. Can't decide what to play. Torn between PvZ, Killzone: Mercenary, Resistance: Burning Skies, or Uncharted: Golden Abyss.
@XFsWorld yeah I've been playing it a lot
Just bought diablo; never played one before been really good remimds me a little of baulders gate.
