That didn’t last long, did it? To be fair, a quick glance at the release calendar would have told you that Destiny wouldn’t be dominating the UK sales charts forever – especially with FIFA 15 looming on the horizon. And, unsurprisingly, it’s the soccer simulation that’s knocked Bungie’s first-person shooter off the top, rocketing straight into a championship winning spot.
Incredibly, the footie favourite sold so many copies that it made up for a whopping 80 per cent of the week’s total software spend. Even more impressively, 54 per cent of FIFA 15's sales stemmed from the PS4 and Xbox One, which reaffirms that the previous generation is very much being left behind. Perhaps cross-gen titles will be dropped sooner than we think, huh?
Elsewhere, Disney Infinity 2.0 once again played around in third, while Call of Duty: Ghosts and Watch Dogs filled out the fifth and sixth spots respectively. Minecraft: PS3 Edition continued to drop blocks in ninth, as Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare maintained its steady growth in tenth. I'm not interested in this game but like watching someone play it.
@Bad-MuthaAdebis No, I've updated the article because that was a bit confusing, wasn't it? It's just 54 per cent of FIFA 15 sales - which is still impressive!
PS4 version was the best-selling, too.
What are the actual improvements as I didn't play 14 and couldn't really tell what got better from 13 to 15 from trying it at a guys flat yesterday.
@Bad-MuthaAdebis So just shinier then?
Thanks MS for promoting FIFA15 then. It sold better on the PS4, thanks again MS
FIFA - Fédération Internationale de Football Association. Not FISA - Fédération Internationale de "Soccer" Association. I guess we don't want to hurt the Yanks' feelings, the special little snowflakes.
Interestingly on a similar article on CVG it said Fifa sold "32% on PS4, 30% on 360" but just "22% on X1" considering the Xbox One marketing for it and next gen versions of multiplatform games regularly selling better, then this is pretty surprising.
I play pes2015 demo and can't even find the difference with fifa2015
Is it me or did yesterday's comments disappear?
@Mr0303 Yes, we lost everything from 8AM UK time yesterday. I'm currently working on recreating the articles. Sorry about that - we may be able to recover the comments yet. Fingers crossed.
@get2sammyb Thank you for the response. Murphy's Law and all that. Keep up the good work.
