Considering that the original Resident Evil: Revelations was divided into distinct episodes like a DVD box set, we suppose that it’s not especially surprising to see its PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 sequel adopt a similar structure – but we can’t help but be a teensy bit thrown off guard. Capcom has revealed that the survival horror escapade will adopt a weekly release schedule, with four instalments deploying over the course of a month early next year. Push Square Towers is already a hotbed of conversation regarding how the hell we’ll actually cover this one.
Each episode will set you back $5.99, but you’ll be able to buy a Season Pass for $24.99. If you don’t fancy purchasing the package digitally, you’ll be able to nab a disc version once everything is available from the PlayStation Store, but that will cost you $39.99. Both the Season Pass and the physical release will come with bonus content, though the latter better ship with something decent if it’s going to cost a lot more. We reckon that a handful of trinkets should do the trick – we’ve always wanted a Claire Redfield fridge magnet, for example. Don’t ask.

Dat hype deflation. I've seen so much hate regarding this already!
No thanks. I'll wait for 7.
It looks really... bad, as well! What have they done to Claire Redfield's face?!
Not a bad set up, more and more devs are jumping on board episodic content. Its also more organised than the TellTale setup.
@get2sammyb Ready to have her new face ruined forever?
Spitting double.
@ShogunRok Good grief, you're right!
At least it's weekly and not "monthly - or whenever we feel like releasing it" like telltale!
Not really a fan of episodic content myself so Ill probably just wait for the physical release.
@get2sammyb That face is worth a chuckle
@ztpayne7 stupid... release the game the folowing month instead? Daft. Those without internet???
I'm actually fine with this game being chopped up. I thought Alone in the Dark 2008 did a decent job with the episodic format...Siren: Blood Curse chopped the game up way too much imho, but that had 12 episodes and this has 4.
The only thing that bothers me is Claire's face. I thought Jill's new face was bad but this one has absolutely no resemblance to her old face or even her brother's face.
I hope all games are released as episodes..
Said no gamer ever.
I swear, Capcom can't get out of their own way about anything related to this series. What is the point of releasing this in an episodic format? Why is the retail version $15 more?! Why does Claire look like Toby Maguire?!! Why did RE6 suck so mu......Oh wait, wrong topic.
I have been a loyal supporter & apologist of this series since day 1, but Capcom's mind numbing decision making regarding this franchise just continues to blow my mind.
@get2sammyb @ShogunRok
Do you guys just have this stuff saved to a Flashdrive or some special meme folder.....? lol xD
I'll wait for the full release before judging because Revelations 1 actually was a good game. I don't like Claire's new look but I'll give that a pass if they deliver another good game.
sigh Just when things were looking up too.
