It's busy up here

Browse any website or message board, and you’ll find plenty of people whining about Destiny – but a month removed from its release, the title is still performing incredibly well. In a post on Bungie.net, the developer has revealed that an average of 3.2 million people play the futuristic first-person shooter for approximately three hours per day. Apparently, that includes week days, which blows our mind a little bit.

Of course, this also gives us an indication of the title’s sales figures, which must be in the region of at least five million units by now. Not bad for a brand new property, huh? In fact, over the past three weeks, the title has attracted more online players than Halo 3 and Halo: Reach combined. However, neither of the previous two titles required an Internet connection to run, so that's not necessarily a fair comparison as far as we’re concerned.

“We thank you for playing," community boss David ‘Deej’ Dague said. "And, we thank you for the passion and enthusiasm that has made the Destiny community so strong already. It's been amazing to watch your Guardians become legends. Your reactions and your opinions have helped us to make Destiny better over this past month. Stay tuned for the next evolution of our shared adventure." It better involve something better than loot caves, huh?
