Prior to the Microsoft acquisition, there were a few concerns that it would never happen, but MineCraft: PS Vita Edition finally has a date – in Europe at least. 4J Studios – the team behind the portable port – revealed on Twitter overnight that the handheld house making simulator will deploy on 15th October in Europe. Sadly, there’s no word on a North American date just yet.
Of course, whether this marks the last ever Mojang title on a PlayStation platform remains to be seen, as we can’t see the Xbox maker being quite so liberal with hypothetical sequels. Either way, it’s nice to see this release finally locked down. Will you be punching some trees on the train next week? Let us know if you’ll be downloading this cross-buy crafting escapade in the comments section below.

I might get it since I haven't brought much for Vita and hate the mobile ones touch controls.
So should I thank Sony
or MS?
@Punished_Boss Microsoft has a better Vita lineup than Sony this year! LOLZ.
@get2sammyb
sadly, tis true. to tell you the truth i am extremely surprised to hear this.
Next week? Oh for f**ks sake... do Sony really have this little a clue at how to try and make Vita sell? Or (like we've all assumed) do they just not give a s**t? There should have been mass adverts about this game building up to a release, making kids know that a proper Minecraft is available in your pocket. If any game could give the Vita a small flicker of a chance it's this. But nope, let's just drop it out next week and watch the console die. Every little thing Sony have done since their wonderful E3 show in 2013 is basically say "You lot who buy our stuff? Couldn't give a toss about you."
THANK YOU MICROSOFT lol Seriously they care more bout vita more lol
@get2sammyb When you find out when the US Version is being released let me know among us other American Citzens by updating the article! Me and My GF cant wait to get this Version! lol Thank You!
@Punished_Boss I love how you quietly say MS when they seem to care more than sony about the Vita Nowadays lol.
Please dont think im a Microsoft Fanboy people.... lol
Hmm I wonder will Microsoft bring Project Spark to Vita
@rastamadeus You should stop being surprised. The Vita is a poor product. Always was. Im not sure if you agree or realise that but Sony now does. They are not going to start pumping advertising dollars into a system no one* wants.
Any mobile device running a K1 chip will absolutely blow the Vita out of the water. And yes, the games on Android/iOS are good AND getting a hell of a lot better. Lets remember, the Vitas ONLY point of improvement over the 3ds was twin sticks and specs. Now we have an array of cheap controllers and much more powerful devices.
Im going to have a laugh for a second.... They released a Vita with 3g!
Finally! Too many games coming out for the vita just lately, my backlog is huge and my to-buy-list is even bigger
@rastamadeus there have been adverts for it, not brilliant but it clearly stated minecraft is coming to the vita
while it's cool the Vita version is still coming it's a shame that there is no chance the Wii U will get Minecraft now, that gamepad was just perfect for this game
@FullbringIchigo
totally agree, miiverse seemed well suited for it as well.
@get2sammyb i know it was just a joke...but vita's lineup this years has been very good imo
I will believe this when I actually see it. I still fear it will be pulled at the last minute.
@SunnyShores @FullbringIchigo
The gaping hole for Minecraft on Wii U is being filled by two other indie developers at the moment, each in competition to the other. One of the games is called U Craft, and I can't remember the name of the other. Both will utilize the gamepad, though I wouldn't be able to tell you much else. Whether the games will be good or not is yet to be seen, but competition is usually a good thing. Not only does it double the chances one of the two games will be good, but it should push these developers to outdo the other.
Does anyone know if this game is getting a physical release on Vita? Or is it digital only?
@JaxonH November 11/19th for US/Worldwide retail release.
