Typically, when retailers break street dates, games are put on sale a day or two before their real release. However, in the case of Assassin’s Creed Unity, retail copies for the PlayStation 4 are in the wild right now – a good two weeks ahead of the title’s actual launch date. With the game originally due out at the end of October, we suppose that some stores may be confused, but still, this is quite an uncommon turn of events.
If anything, we suppose that it shows that the game wasn’t necessarily delayed for development reasons, as it seems that the code is finished and the discs are already pressed. Honestly, we’re not sure how launching slap bang in the middle of November will help it from a commercial perspective, but, hey, this is a franchise that’s more than capable of holding its own. By the way, if you want to spoil yourself with some gameplay footage, well, you might want to look through here.
Honestly, it genuinely looks great.

any chance i could my copy early too....pretty please...
My guess is some retailer labeled a batch of games incorrectly and sent this out instead, probably someone wanting to play ninja gaiden and got this crap instead.

Every game Nitneod releases on Friday Target will have out on display on Tuesday. Haven't gotten them to sell me one yet though And they had a copy of Skyanders Trap Team out on the shelf a good 2 weeks before it released. It was the 3DS version so I didn't try to buy that 1.
Has any game ever released w/o somebody somewhere buying it ahead of time?
Back in the day I bought Morrowind on Xbox a good week early too at Wal-Mart. It was just there to buy so I did!
It's common too with employees of gaming stores to go home with their copy as stores receive them early usually. Most people streaming unreleased games work in those stores...
Only time I got a game early like week+ was Melee on the Cube and it was awesome.

Honestly I think what happened is if you remember correctly in the early going, October was absolutely jam packed with game releases like no month I've seen in a long time, and then games started getting delayed and pushed back to the next month, but I feel like so many pubs had the same idea that they all ended up in Nov instead of Oct lol. In October alone I've bought quite a few games still Tho.. the evil within, driveclub, walking dead season 2, sunset overdrive, and lords of the fallen... I think that's all but I might be missing one. November is going to be just as or more expensive for me lol because I'm getting every single AAA game launching next month. Can't wait !! Hope I can get sunset and lords finished up in time !
BTW I know it's a ps site but if any of you do have an xbox as well, I fully recommend sunset.. it is so damn good.
link is dead
@Bad-MuthaAdebis - I reckon this is because the retailer forgot Ubi changed the release date. Looks like it's been sent to the customer on the original release date which I think was 28th Oct?
Why does this never happen to me dammit!?!?!
@mitcHELLspawn nah, your not alone. I have an Xbox too. Ssod is great. I've just scratched the surface of the game. Ps4 and X1 are the way to go this gen. I hope ms and Sony can keep up the exclusive arms race at this pace. Ssod, quantum break ,bloodborne and the order are the games that has me drooling ATM.
@Dual-shock-spok I know eh! I couldn't imagine not owning both, they both have awesome features and I really think the exclusive games are just going to keep coming. Something tells me Microsoft is going to make a much harder push in that area this gen which is awesome, it will only make Sony push harder and we will end up with some amazing games. I'm so pumped for quantum break and bloodborne as well. Would like to see some more from the order. It looks gorgeous I just don't really know what the gameplay is going to be like yet
Im happy to wait but oosh what lucky gits!
@Bad-MuthaAdebis hahaha hahaha. Awesome!
I remember getting mw2 accidently shipped to me a week or 2 early, back then that was actually an enjoyable thing. Now if this could happen to me with inquisition, i would be a very, very happy person
