This came out of nowhere, didn’t it? Sony has announced a two-day community event in Las Vegas named PlayStation Experience, which promises to offer an “exclusive first look at what’s coming next in 2015”. This could just mean that the platform holder’s going to allow attendees to get some hands-on time with the likes of Bloodborne and The Order: 1886, but there’s already wild speculation regarding potential game announcements.
One 'insider' apparently noted earlier in the year that two exclusives will be announced in December, and, lo and behold, this event is set to begin on 6th December. Personally, we’d be somewhat shocked if new titles got unveiled – but Naughty Dog, for example, has been hinting at some kind of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End update, so we wouldn’t be surprised if that occurred during this gathering. We’ll also probably get new footage from several other announced titles.
Of course, those that attend won’t just be there for hypothetical reveals. “Prepare for two intense days of PlayStation gaming, content, and activities,” the official PlayStation Blog post states. “Attendees will sit in on in-depth panels, meet the industry’s best developers, score hands-on gameplay with tons of upcoming PlayStation games, collect free swag, and get a chance to purchase rare collectibles directly from their favourite game studios.”
As far as we can tell, tickets aren’t available just yet, but more details will be announced later in the month. A one-day pass will cost $50.00, while you’ll be able to enjoy the full weekend for $90.00. And if you can’t go, there’ll be coverage on the PlayStation Blog, as well as live streams – presumably for any potential juicy bits.
To be honest, we’d recommend tempering your expectations a touch if you’re hoping for big announcements. While there’s always the slim possibility of bomb shells, it’s best to go into these things with your expectations low. That said, we suppose that Sony does have a history of making announcements in December, as the platform holder always used to have a big presence at the awards ceremony formerly known as the VGAs. Are you hoping for some megatons? Will you be attending this event? Hop aboard the hype train in the comments section below.

Uncharted Collection, the return of Crash and Media Molcule's other game...calling it. If right I demand to be rewarded with Bourbon biscuits
You can have a custard cream.
God of war 4!!!!!..... Too much?
@goonow yeah I thought of god of war as soon as I read this. I hope it's god of war 4!
New Crash game, PS1/PS2 emulation, Legend of Dragoon remake/sequel, MediEvil remake/sequel, New Ape Escape, PlayStation All Stars Sequel, revamped PS4 UI, more new IPs, and that pretty much ends my fantasy PS4 experience.
Shenmue remakes with Shenmue 3 in the works coming exclusively to PS4!! A man can hope.
Maybe a GT7 announcement?
If Playstation is having a hard time responding on their own blog, why would they respond to questions at this event?
It will just be the developers showcasing these new/upcoming games with vague answer's to questions. (I am not sure it's just a beta type of answers)
What you are paying for is a opertunity to play a beta if there is not a huge line.
However, the chance of actually paying and playing these beta games is higher than say a DriveClub +Edition comming out soon.
Anyone find it odd that they delayed releasing Europe's October Plus Games from the 1st Wednesday of the month to the 2nd Wednesday of the month for DriveClub?
Here in the US we had to wait either way as the 7th was the first Tuesday of the Month.
Will see if in April 2015 if Europe again has to wait for the 2nd Wednesday of the Month maybe the rule is day after US releases.
I know there have been a few times in the past the plus update was delayed and didn't happen on Tuesday.
Prays and hopes that they reintroduce the Last Guardian to the world
Not expecting any big announcements. If there are any 'new' reveals it will likely be some more PS3 ports.
@Gamer83 You mean more PS3 ports for Vita and PS4?
@Enobmah_Shards
I was talking about PS4 but it could apply to Vita as well.
DOOM 4 Game footage would be nice and if we're really lucky maybe a Fallout 4 announcement. I know there is very little chance in either of those titles making an appearance, but hey, one can only hope!
Bloodborne didn't really impress me with the six plus hours I've had access to the Alpha/Beta with and I have a feeling that The Order 1886 won't be as good as people are hoping. Everyone who has had access, even if it was limited, have said, asides from the graphics, which are very nice as we have all seen, the controls and weapons feel very underwhelming. I just hope they can pull The Order together in time as it has the potential to be another great new ip in Sony's portfolio of first party games.
In regards to the show, I think I'll save myself a few £££ and watch it online. I do however wish Sony luck in pulling off a great showcase of must own games. As much for them aswel as ourselves.
Project Morpheus.
AND the next Uncharted game to be released on Morpheus, so I can nick stuff in glorious 3D.
@WARDIE - seems most recent big releases haven't lived up to the hype.
Infamous SS was meh. Destiny is above average. Watchdogs was boring. Driveclub looks a bit shonky. The best new title I've played on PS4 this year was Wolfenstein, and I had low expectations going in.
Feels like we're back in the early years of PS3.
@SuperCat A fair statement but I think the PS3's first year was even slower. After that the PS3 went from strength to strength and I believe Sony will ensure the PS4 follows in a somewhat or even better way.
I feel that at the minute its the third partys that are bringing us the best. Diablo 3 being the most addictive so far. I've given up on holding my breath for a true and worthy next gen first party game. The biggest games I am looking forward to next are Far Cry 4 and next Februarys The Witcher 3 which as im sure you know are third partys, but atleast I know ther're worth the wait.
The only first party game from Sony im really looking forward too is Uncharted 4 but thats still over a year away.
@SuperCat i cant believe your favorite game is wolfenstien. It confuses me, but oh well. Driveclub is very fun and gorgeous imo.
I can't wait to see more of Uncharted 4, R&C Redux and hopefully something else. Thankfully I don't have to suffer through that horrible abomination VGX.
hmm
A fallout 4 announcement would literally make me squeal
@ozmosis79
Not likely that we will see GT7 before 2017.
I think that Sony will announce that the free edition of DriveClub will be available in januar.
I really hope they delay this show until next year. Just to show someone at Sony has a sense of humour.
@get2sammyb I want to eat those now, haven't for a while.
@rastamadeus
I think we'll get new footage of Uncharted 4, maybe some Morpheus info but mostly new footage of The Order, Bloodbourne and other games out in the first half of 2015...
I'd love to see some Uncharted 4, maybe some new footage of Order, and hoping there would actually be new stuff.
I don't even own a PS4, but I'm tired of most of the library being PS3 ports. I'd rather not see collections for Uncharted and others yet, as it seems like making constant ports for this gen is a waste of the platform's power. It was fine last gen since the collections were usually of games at least 5+ years old and the collections themselves didn't really happen until a few years into the PS3's lifespan (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong), but now, it just seems like the work could be going to something better.
@get2sammyb I would love one of those right now
@rastamadeus That got a laugh from me.
about time. Now that Destiny & Drive Club are launched. We need new game to discuss about for PS4!
New project from Santa Monica!
Speaking of hypothetical reveals: thanks to the Chinese mobile gaming community and its expectation to grow nearly one hundred percent next year, along with Japanese gamers in a constant state of travel, the end of console gaming could very well happen in the next two generations.
