Regardless of whether you’ve had a good week or a bad week, it’s time to forget your worries, and get stuck in with some good old fashioned gaming. As has become more regular than a Mario Balotelli blunder, we’re back with another edition of What Are You Playing in order to kickstart your two days away from work. As always, our crackpot team of gaming gurus are here to get things started, so let’s go.

I’m a little caught between review assignments at the moment, so I’m hoping to find time to polish off the final episode of The Walking Dead: Season Two at some point. I’ll also be returning to one of my all time favourites, Resident Evil 4, in order to get in the mood for Hallowe’en.

I'm currently making preparations for PAX Australia next week, so I won't have copious amounts of time to be playing games this weekend. However, I might indulge in some Pix the Cat should I get the chance. Incidentally, if you're attending PAX's Australian conference, come and say hi to me – I'll be the one wearing a Foxhound t-shirt.

In the spirit of Hallowe’en, I'm finally getting around to playing Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. While I'm enjoying the experience immensely, it’s hard to shrug off the itch to play Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair and Tales of Xillia 2, as I’m reaching the grand finale of both.

After successfully conquering Alien: Isolation last week and being subjected to its hugely disappointing conclusion, I'll be aiming to remove Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor from my backlog this weekend. My only hope is that I won't be subjected to another subpar ending, though word on the grapevine suggests that this may be wishful thinking.

In the past couple of months, I’ve purchased eight new games, and this weekend I’ll add Bayonetta 2 and Lords of the Fallen to that. Out of those eight, I have completed a grand total of zero, and that will continue this weekend due to Destiny. Yeah, I should probably disqualify myself from this feature, because my weekends never seem to change anymore.

With the newest patch added to NHL 15, it almost resembles a full game, so I’m likely to return to that. When I’m not skating on ice, I’ll be anxiously awaiting the newest Call of Duty.

Whenever there's a red Ferrari in a racing game, I pretend that I'm playing a new version of OutRun, but my brash driving style doesn't work well for DriveClub's Ferrari 458 Italia. I'm enjoying Tour mode, and practicing on the picturesque Holmastad point-to-point course in Norway. There's also a sense of satisfaction from earning Fame points towards my Club.
Joey Thurmond, Reviewer
After getting through the insane gore and disturbing scares of Outlast (which everyone should play for Hallowe’en), I'm ready to be even more frightened – in a good kind of way – by watching the Alien and Aliens movies this weekend, which will be followed by my boarding of the Sevastopol Station in Alien: Isolation. I won't be able to get too far into it, but I'm excited to creep around the spaceship in all of its retro sci-fi glory while I can.
What’s keeping you occupied this coming weekend? Are you hoping to clear out your backlog ahead of Call of Duty, or do you have other plans in mind? Let us know in the comments section below.

Here is what I will be playing in between work this weekend.
DS -Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin- Just about to wrap this game up just in time for Halloween.
Wii U -Mario Kart 8- I have been having the itch to play this game again so it looks like I will be hitting the race track this weekend.
PC -World of Warcraft- The preexpansion stuff is out now and its time to start going after the Iron Horde.
That's probably it for now if anything changes I will of course add it on later.
Hope you all have a great weekend.
@Tasuki Have they added Link to Mario Kart 8 yet? I must admit, the Wii U is tempting me right now - I really want Bayonetta 2.
@get2sammyb
Link arrives in November, no exact date has been given yet.
I will be trying to finish Puppeteer (I am finally on the last Act) and I will keep playing Ninja Battle Heroes on 3DS. This little game is a blast.
@get2sammyb: Not yet as @sinalefa said not till November. I am surprised you didnt get the MK 8 bundle when it was available or wasn't that one available in the UK?
I would keep my eye out for holiday bundles Sammy you can get some great deals with those.
I have no complaints with the Wii U especially when a few of my coworkers come over for our weekly game night, the Wii U always seems like our go to couch co-op system.
I still need to complete last of us, shadow of mordor and diablo 3 on ps4 so I will try to fit some of that in this weekend. Finding it hard to drag myself away from loot hinting in Diablo though!
Bayonetta 2
Shadow of Mordor on PS4 and Table Top Racing on Vita for me...
Unrelated but a heads-up for anyone in the UK who may be interested, Watch Dogs is only £23.99 on Amazon at the moment...

I just got Smash Bros for 3DS, so no other games for me.
Going to be concentrating on Alien: Isolation (PS3) this weekend, really enjoying the game.
If I need to take a break from all the tension may play some Senran Kagura SV on PS Vita or Hyrule Warriors on Wii U.
Still waiting for my pre-ordered copy of Bayonetta 1&2 Special Edition, only despatched yesterday.
Bayonetta 2 only arrives for me on monday, so I'll probably play a lot of Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, which I just got for my PS3.
And I'll probably try to squeeze a little bit of Smash Bros, Theathrhythm and Animal Crossing, but this weekend is all about the story mode of Persona 4 Ultimax.
Killzone: Shadow Fall
Destiny
The Last of Us Remastered
Resident Evil: Revelations
Playing around in creative mode in Minecraft PS4 and Vita. Really wish the cross save worked both ways. I'll TRY to squeeze in First Light, ive neglected it im ashamed to say. But all that ends on Tuesday when the unfinished swan hits.
@Dodoo Ha! I thought I was the only one here that bought Table Top Racing
The golf club. Seriously under rated game. Not touched anything else in the last month.
I started playing rainbow moon on my Vita again. I only got about half through it before i set it down for a couple months so i want to finish it off. Also, i just pre ordered the day zero Call of Duty today so i'll be awaiting that. Countdown 8 days!
I've started playing Prototype 2 (PS3), I just completed Mission 11: Lab Rat.
playing shadow warrior ps4, it's quite good fun but some of the controls
(using special abilities) are very awkward, sometimes they work and
sometimes they don't, they usually don't work when you need them the most.
bit of Destiny as well, just the daily bounties and heroic story.
Xbox One- Forza Horizon 2
3DS- Super Smash Bros.
PS4- The Evil Within
Was up all night playing Bayonetta 2. I feel like a little kid again. This game is so good it keeps on amazing me. There were times I was laughing out loud nervously because of the sheer craziness of the game and times where I was yelling out loud out of enjoyment. This game is insane and easily the best game of this decade so far for me.
well I just finished the first Bayonetta on Wii U, so now on to the second, that plus The Legend of Korra on PS4 and Metal Gear Rising on PS3
I've gone Platinum crazy
@FullbringIchigo
Legend of Korra is a really, really fun game. I got sucked into it immediately, but I'm also a huge fan of Platinum.
Sounds like the one game you're missing in that list is Wonderful 101. That would make it a true Platinum extravaganza!
PS4: Currently playing manager career mode on FIFA 15
WII U: Bayonetta 1 & 2
@JaxonH yeah really enjoyed the Legend of Korra so much I brought it twice (did get it on xb1 first but I really don't like the controller with that game so I got it on ps4)
as for wonderful 101 I still need to pick it up but I'm on a budget and there are other games I want more such as Hyrule Warriors and Mario Kart
@FullbringIchigo Yeah I can understand that, but I would recommend you get it at the soonest available opportunity because it really is one of the best games on the system. And I'm pretty sure you can get it for 20 bucks just about anywhere now.
Still doing Shadow of Mordor on PS4 in chunks. So far for me, it's been the most engaging title for the system. That and Pure Pool (go figure).
PS Home and Rayman Raving Rabbids on 360 for me
Is there something else to play than Bayonetta 2 this weekend ?
That and i finally got to buy Deadly Premonition with that amazing steam deal, look forward to plat that game
Rainbow Moon (Vita). Got it from PS+ this month and I'm addicted.
NBA 2K15 and Dante's Inferno.
Bayonetta 1 for Wii U and Shadow of Mordor for PS4.
@XFsWorld You and me both buddy! I just finished the championships and enjoyed it. Looking forward to the PS4 sequel now too!
