Grand Theft Auto V may be a re-release, but it just so happens to be the biggest PlayStation 4 game of the year – both in terms of content and commercial clout. Only the most committed criminals will unlock the title's Platinum Trophy, which demands both skill and dedication. Fortunately, we've prepared some tips to help you on your way to becoming a San Andreas superstar. Let's get down to business, shall we?
Road Map
You'll need to set aside a good 150 hours to unlock the Platinum Trophy in Grand Theft Auto V, so strap yourself in for a time consuming ride. We'll start with the single player, which requires you to more or less complete everything in the game. This includes the primary story, of course, as well as dozens of side missions. While you won't technically need to do everything to score your 100 per cent completion Trophy – strangely, you only need to land half of the Stunt Jumps, for example – you will need to finish virtually everything to unlock associated trinkets, so make sure that you've got lots of spare time.
Assuming that you tackle the mission named 'The Third Way' when given the choice towards the end of the campaign, you'll only encounter two missable Trophies in the game. These are 'Altruist Acolyte' and 'Wanted: Alive or Alive', so make sure that you pay extra attention to these in the Trophy Guide below.
In order to avoid missable Trophies, it's worth noting that you should tackle the story mission labelled 'The Third Way' when given the choice towards the end of the core campaign. For the sake of spoilers, we won't delve into why, but it will make things easier for you later on. Once you've completed the story, you'll need to go back through and ensure that you've got at least 70 gold medals out of all 116 story and Strangers & Freaks objectives – all of these can be replayed from the main menu.
Frome there, it's a case of cleaning up all of the collectibles and side missions, which we've outlined in more detail in the Trophy Guide below. Finish everything, and it'll be time to move on to Grand Theft Auto Online.
Note: we'll have more on the Grand Theft Auto Online Trophies shortly, so please do check back.

Solid Gold, Baby! - Gold
Earn any 70 Gold Medals on Missions, Strangers and Freaks.
There are a total of 116 missions in the game that count towards this Trophy, so you're not going to need to complete them all. These include the 71 story missions, and 45 Strangers & Freaks objectives. Each one can be replayed from the main menu by pushing the options button. All of your improved character skills will transfer forward when you replay a mission, so it's worth waiting until you've beaten the game to focus on this. To get the gold medal, you simply need to meet certain conditions detailed in the game's menu screen.
Heist preparation missions and the aforementioned Strangers & Freaks objectives are pretty easy to beat, so they should be your focus first and foremost. Once you've got gold medals in all of these, clean up with any remaining missions until you've fully completed a total of 70, and the Trophy will pop.
Note: gold medals in Hobbies & Pastimes missions do not contribute towards this Trophy.

You should unlock this Trophy on your way towards the Platinum. It's worth noting that as well as uncovering all of the landmass in the game, you'll also need to see all of the ocean, so just set waypoints to areas that are still undefined, and travel to them to make this pop.
All's Fare in Love and War - Bronze
Purchase Downtown Cab Co. and complete a private fare.
This property can be purchased as Franklin for $200,000, once you've beaten the mission 'Nervous Ron'. After buying it, you'll eventually get a call from Raul regarding a private fare. Accept it, and travel to the marker on your map. Complete the mission, and this Trophy will be yours.
TP Industries Arms Race - Bronze
Purchase McKenzie Field Hangar and win the arms race.
As above, you'll need to have completed the 'Nervous Ron' mission before accessing this. The property can be purchased for $150,000 as Trevor. You'll need to complete ten weapons trafficking missions for Oscar in order to get this to unlock. Five will be carried out in an aircraft, and a further five will find you using a dune buggy.
Multi-Disciplined - Bronze
Attain a gold medal in all applicable hobbies and pastimes.
You'll likely unlock this Trophy on your way to 100 per cent. You only need to get one gold medal per discipline, which tends to involve winning a race or hitting a certain score quota. The disciplines are:
- Street Race
- Off-Road Race
- Sea Race
- Triathlon
- Shooting Range
- Flight School
From Beyond the Stars - Bronze
Collect and return all spaceship parts.
Ah, no Platinum Trophy would be complete without an obnoxious fetch quest. You'll need to complete the main story mission 'Fame or Shame' first, after which you'll be able to access the 'Far Out' Strangers & Freaks objective by talking to Omega. From there, you'll find 50 rectangular objects littered around Los Santos. Collect them all and return to Omega as Franklin to nab the Trophy. This video by Power Pyx should help you out.
A Mystery, Solved - Bronze
Solve the mystery of Leonora Johnson.
There are more secret items to collect – this time Letter Scraps. These can be grabbed from the start of the game, and resemble glowing pieces of paper. Once you've got them all, a Strangers & Freaks mission named 'Killer' will appear on your map. Travel to it as Franklin and complete the objective to unlock the Trophy. This video by Power Pyx should help you to find all of the Letter Scraps.
Waste Management - Bronze
Purchase the old dock and collect all nuclear waste.
Who doesn't love collectibles, huh? This time you need to grab 30 Nuclear Waste collectibles, which are located underwater. Simply buy the Sonar Collections Dock for $250,000 after completing the story mission named 'The Merryweather Heist'. From there, you'll have access to a submarine, which will allow you to explore underwater. The Nuclear Waste collectibles represent bright yellow glowing objects under the sea. This video by Power Pyx should help you to find them all.
Red Mist - Bronze
Complete all Rampages.
Once you've completed the story mission 'Trevor Phillips Industries', you'll be able to participate in Rampage missions as Trevor, which require you to kill a certain number of enemies in a specific time limit. Finish all five of these to nab the Trophy.
Show Off - Bronze
Complete all Stunt Jumps.
There are 50 stunt jumps in the game, which require you to land a perfect jump in a car or a motorbike. You'll need to make sure that a message in the corner of the screen states "Stunt Jump completed" after executing one of these, otherwise it won't register as completed, and you'll have to do it again. It's best to use Franklin for this trinket, so that you can use his vehicle slowdown ability to perfect your leap. This video by Power Pyx should help you to find all of these.
Kifflom! - Silver
Complete your path to enlightenment... or not.
You need to complete numerous tasks for the Epsilon Program in order to unlock this Trophy. To begin, you'll need to play as Michael, and will need at least $100,000 to get started. To kick off the quest, use your in-game phone's web browser to visit 'epsilonprogram.com', and select 'Evaluate Your Identity' on the subsequent page. Answer the questions here (it doesn't matter what you pick), and then follow the steps outlined in this Power Pyx video to get the Trophy.
Three Man Army - Bronze
Survive 3 minutes on at least a 3 star Wanted Level with all three characters together off mission.
You'll obviously need all three characters unlocked to nab this Trophy, so make sure that you've completed the 'Friends Reunited' story mission before attempting this. From there, call up both of your buddies and arrange to hang out. Pick them both up in a well armoured four-door car, and earn a three-star wanted level. The easiest way to do this is to travel to the Los Santos International Airport and enter the airfield. This will put your wanted level at a three straight away. Then, simply drive up and down the runway for three minutes in order to nab the Trophy.
Out of Your Depth - Bronze
You're gonna need a bigger boat...
This is a pretty easy one. Travel out into the ocean with a boat, and wait for your mini-map to turn a dark blue. Swim around for a bit until you spot a red blob on your mini-map – or a shark. Dive into the water and try to attract the predator's attention. Eventually it will eat you, and the Trophy will pop.
Altruist Acolyte - Bronze
Deliver an unsuspecting victim to the Altruist Cult.
You only get a few chances to complete this Trophy, so pay attention. Playing as Trevor, you need to look out for a blue 'Friend' icon on your map. Once you pick one of these up, they'll ask to be taken to a specific destination. Instead of going where they want, however, travel to the Altruist Cult location marked by an 'A' on your map. After a short cut-scene, this Trophy will pop. If you're still not sure what to do, watch this video by Power Pyx for more information.
A Lot of Cheddar - Bronze
Spend a total of $200 million across all three characters.
The best way to earn lots of money is to fiddle the stock market. Refer to our How to Make Massive Amounts of Money in Grand Theft Auto V on PS4 guide for more information on this. Buying and selling stocks actually contributes to this Trophy, so you should earn this in no time if you opt to play the stock market. If you miss out, just invest all of your money into a company, and then immediately withdraw it. Repeat this process until the Trophy pops.
Trading Pure Alpha - Bronze
Make a profit over your total investments in the stock market.
All you need to do here is turn a single profit in the stock market. Refer to our How to Make Massive Amounts of Money in Grand Theft Auto V on PS4 guide for more information on this
Pimp My Sidearm - Bronze
Fully mod a weapon.
You only need to fully upgrade one weapon to do this, so focus on your pistol, which is the cheapest option. Simply travel to an Ammu-Nation store and buy the following upgrades to get this Trophy to ping: Extended Clip, Flashlight, Suppressor, Army Tint, LSPD Tint.
Wanted: Alive or Alive - Bronze
Deliver a bail bond target alive.
Much like the 'Altruist Acolyte' Trophy, this can be missed. Bail bond missions are only available to Trevor, and can be accessed once you've completed the 'Mr. Phillips' story mission. There are four bail bond side missions, which you'll be contacted in an email about. The first of these – Ralph Ostrowsk – is the easiest, so wait to be emailed with the details, and travel to his location at the east of the Davis Quartz quarry. Make sure that you've purchased the Stun Gun, as the aim here is to not kill your target. It's best to save before you tackle this, just in case things go wrong. Once he surrenders, he'll get in your car. Take him back to the destination in order for the Trophy to pop.
Check out this Power Pyx video for more details.
Los Santos Customs - Bronze
Fully mod a vehicle.
When you've got enough money, purchase the Los Santos Customs property as Franklin for $349,000, which makes all vehicle upgrades free. Take a car to the garage and upgrade everything. Exit the shop with your brand new wheels, and the Trophy will pop.
Close Shave - Bronze
Complete all Under the Bridge and Knife Flight challenges.
There are 50 bridges that you must fly under to obtain this Trophy, and a further 15 so-called Knife Flights. To complete the former, grab the Maverick helicopter from the roof of the South Los Santos Hospital, and use this Power Pyx video to find all of the bridges. Make sure that the message “Under the Bridge completed" appears on the screen before moving on from one of these, as it won't register otherwise.
Meanwhile, a Knife Flight is where you tilt a jet on its side and fly between two skyscraper buildings. Again, wait for the “Knife Flight completed" message to appear on the screen before moving on. This video by Power Pyx should help you out.
A New Perspective - Bronze
You played GTA V in first person mode for 15 hours.
Simply tap the touchpad to switch to first-person perspective. You just need to play a total of 15 hours in this mode to grab the Trophy. You can check how long you've spent using this viewpoint by accessing the stats section of the main menu by pushing the options button.
