Who doesn’t love a good stabilising? As announced overnight, PlayStation 4 firmware update v2.02 is ready to download right now – and it weighs in at 217.2MB. The update is mandatory, so you’re going to want to set aside a few minutes to grab this if you’re planning to play online tonight. Obviously, it’ll download automatically if you’ve been brave enough to leave your system in Rest Mode.
There’s no real official documentation on what this fixes, aside from the customary “software stability”. Polygon reports, however, that the digital download has corrected a slew of issues with pre-release copies of Dragon Age: Inquisition, which were caused by PS4 firmware update v2.00, and weren’t fixed by last week’s incremental upgrade. We’ve heard Assassin’s Creed Unity was suffering from similar problems, too.
Let’s hope that this is the end of this sorry state of affairs, then. PS4 firmware update v2.00 was a great upgrade, and it added tons of functionality to the next-gen experience – but if the whole system’s going to break every time that Sony deploys an operating system overhaul, then we honestly think that we’d rather go without.

Messages are now working much better for me. Can anyone else confirm?
@get2sammyb sorry, I don't have any friends to send me any
yeah messaging quite took longer.
social media sharing also took longer to reach upload screen.
Multiple download slowing my PS4 internet connection down, causing so much lag in MMO game i'm playing ( i had to restart PS4 after paused the downloads)
I hope all of them fixed now.
Its an update to break CoD, some lovely revenge for the share play pooping. Most likely they outsourced the job to evolution studios. Seriously though, maybe, just maybe, it will fix driveclub?
@FullbringIchigo I can fax you a 'damp' postcard from Manchester?
@get2sammyb yes they are working very fast now! I am in actual tears of joy at the moment. It had been bugging me since the beginning
Does anyone know if this fixes the "no sound" issue? I am only getting sound from my controller. It also shows that 1080p, 1080i and 720p are all unsupported. I hope this fixes everything.
