Sony may be resting on its laurels a little bit in North America, but it refuses to give any of its competitors an inch in the UK. The platform holder has been frighteningly aggressive in these parts – matching Microsoft’s many price cuts at every opportunity – and it’s starting to prepare some scarily attractive bundles ahead of the busy Christmas shopping period.

Take this one available right now at the ordinarily expensive GAME: it includes a 500GB console, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Destiny, a 12-month PlayStation Plus subscription – and a downloadable copy of The Last of Us: Remastered. “How much?” we hear you scream. Oh, just £399.99. When you consider that the games alone cost over £100, that’s some saving.

If you don’t fancy the lineup, the store’s also doing a similar package with Watch Dogs in place of Destiny, but seeing as the open world adventure can be purchased for peanuts these days, that’s probably not quite as impressive. Either way, it’s clear that if you’re in the market for a new console this holiday, there are going to be plenty of decent options waiting for you if you shop around.
