Twisted Metal maker David Jaffe would be proud of this latest Batman: Arkham Knight trailer, which follows on from last week’s clip and shows the Caped Crusader kicking ass in the Batmobile. To be honest, this is nowhere near as impressive as its predecessor, but we do get a good look at some of the vehicle’s unique abilities, as it strafes out of the way of enemy fire and unleashes a torrent of homing missiles.
A third and final video from this segment of the campaign will be shown during Sony’s big PlayStation Experience keynote over the weekend, so hopefully it finishes off with a boss fight or villain reveal. Are you looking forward to the Dark Knight’s forthcoming PlayStation 4 escapade? Respond to our riddle in the comments section below.

Well that trailer was meh
I'm really looking forward to Arkham Knight. The bat mobile looks like a great new way to get around the massive city playground but actual gameplay combat doesn't look that fun. I think the way they are going to use it for puzzle solving and stuff sounds really clever so it's a shame that the shooting sections just look so boring. I'm holding off making a proper decision until I've seen more footage (hopefully soon) but I think this is going to be the weakest part of the game. Don't force to many of these sections please Rocksteady!!!
@Mrskinner agree, just one singular car fight. if the game hasn't gotten far then they shouldn't have showed anything off.
Trailer isn't anything special but the idea of a Batman game set in a hunk of Gotham big enough to need the Batmobile to get around is amazing. I would likely choose to still get around on foot as really the vehicle combat looks like it could get old fast from what I've seen....but really, this is my most anticipated game ( I'm just slightly fond of Batman )
@imtom2002 My thoughts exactly. The car combat is not going to be my favourite part of this game. I hope there wont be too much of it but the traversal should be boss. Either way i cant wait to play this game. GOTY next year is going to be Super tough to pick.
I've really wanted to play the Arkham games for a while. I know it's probably sacrilage to be a superhero fan without reading comics, but I've been a Batman fan since my youth from watching the animated show and Justice League a lot. I've also seen the Dark Knight films.
The PS3 Arkham games are probably among the first games I plan on getting when I'm able to get some regular income.
I'm still hyped for this game, really makes me wish I had a PS4 already or have one by Summer 2015. Sadly I prob won't own one until Christmas 2016, assuming there's a price drop to $300 New or cheaper.
@DerMeister I'm in the same boat as you. I don't read much comics, I prefer watching the cartoons, movies, and tv show adaptations.
Between nerfing the PS4 version and this very meh looking car combat, Rocksteady has done what I thought impossible... completely have killed my hype for this game, just like the f'ing imbeciles over at Ubisoft ruined my anticipation for several games it had on the way. Unbelievable. It's up to CD Projekt Red, Naughty Dog and Konami to keep 2015 from being another massive disappointment and unfortunately Uncharted 4 and MGS V: The Phantom Pain could very easily miss next year entirely.
@Gamer83 What's the story with them nerfing it?
@eLarkos
They said they're 'aiming for graphical parity' on all consoles, which as we've seen is code for the PS4 owners get f'ed because MS opened the checkbook .
@Gamer83 Oh right, yea that blows. However, wasn't this pretty much the case for most last-gen games including the epic rocksteady Batman games?
I think up until now this whole graphical parity thing has been a bit of an excuse for poor work but i'm willing to give Rocksteady the benefit of the doubt. Its not like the Xbox One is chronically underpowered compared to the PS4. Now if it was Wii U parity I would be worried.
@eLarkos
It was the same last gen but it made sense as to why. PS3 was difficult to work with and 360 was ahead in sales for a while. Right now PS4 leads in sales, by most accounts its easy to work with so to me there is no excuse to go for 'parity' especially with this game since Sony has a marketing deal for it. Ubisoft screwed PS4 owners with AC Unity but MS did have a deal in place with Ubi. PS4 owners should get similar first class treatment from Rocksteady but apparently not. It's frustrating. You're right though that X1 isn't terribly underpowered but still, if PS4 can do more for the game the devs should take advantage.
@Gamer83 So the game itself being bad isn't the issue as its the same situation as last gen and those games are great. Its the fact that there is no reason why it couldnt have been better that has killed your hype. Gotcha.
@eLarkos
This trailer didn't help matters. Out of vehicle should be cool, but I'm wondering if adding the Batmobile was a bad idea.
@Gamer83 Yea definitely. Im looking forward to seeing how this game turns out compared to their last games.
I have a friend who hates this Batmobile for having guns. As he says it clashes with the idea of Batman not killing anyone. We went as far as nicknaming it the "Baymobile", in reference to Michael Bay.
But yes, not too impressed with this video.
@sinalefa
Great point that I didn't even think about. The batmobile should be there just to get from one of the map to the other, if needed. I hate forced vehicular combat in most games, the freaking mako brought Mass Effect 1 from a 10/10 to an 8.5.
@DerMeister im right there with ya, havent been a comic book fan but I grew up watching the excellent Batman animated series and I swear by the Dark Knight Trilogy and now the Arkham games ( made by rocksteady).
