We already know that Troy Baker will play Nathan Drake’s older brother in PlayStation 4 sequel Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, but actor Todd Stashwick has now confirmed that he was originally cast in the role. Those of you with long memories may recall the The Riches star leaving the project along with ex-director Amy Hennig earlier in the year, for reasons that aren’t yet clear.
While we’re not going to speculate about the re-cast, though, this does give us some clues on the plot. The original teaser trailer – which featured the voice of Stashwick – hinted that his character was in search of vengeance. “I lost 15 years, buried alive, erased – you left me,” he snarled. “But you can’t outrun the past, and when it catches up, I’ll be there to sift through the wreckage.”
Our short glimpse of the title at E3 suggested that Drake had been dragged into a suicide mission against his will. “I don’t really have an option here,” he pleaded, after asking for Sully’s help. “You know that.” Our theory: Drake’s brother is turning in some favours, and these will eventually bring the protagonist to the brink. Honestly, we don’t think that the hero’s getting out of this one alive.

Yes definitely, he seems really sketchy to me. Reminds me of Flynn in Uncharted 2
Well duh. I said that watching the cut see and even my wife agreed w/ me. She doesnt think its his real brother though, more of a comrade. We cant agree on everything.
@rjejr
I also thought maybe it wasn't his real brother, at first.
Hmm, I have a feeling that he is in fact Nathan's real brother. We still know very little about his childhood, and I imagine that this will be a big theme for U4.
I'll groan very loudly if he turns out to be bad, though... I really don't want another Flynn/Dante situation.
I said this before when the original Todd Stashwick voiced teaser surfaced, but I have a feeling that this "brother" could actually be an old childhood friend from when Drake was sent to St. Francis Boys Home and he's seeking vengeance for being left behind whilst Nate assumed a new identity
It would be interesting if he was his real brother. So his family does not care about Drake and his only family would be his friends, basically Sully and later Elena.
It's possible he's an antagonist, but I have a feeling he's not the big bad of the game. I don't really get that presence around him, so I'm guessing he has his own agenda or he's in cahoots with a bigger threat.
Competing with MGS for the most dysfunctional family, i see.
Yes.
He's pretty much definitely the character that we heard in the very first teaser trailer (we already know the voice actor changed).
Being "BAD" is not necessarily the same as being "EVIL".
A hard life may make people do some things.
I think Sam will be the thief that meets his end in this game, not Nate. At least that's what I hope happens. Don't kill Nate, ND!
