Who remembers Capcom's gorgeous dungeon crawler Deep Down? The free-to-play title was announced alongside the PlayStation 4 eons ago, and was set to go into beta when the next-gen system launched in Japan earlier this year – but it's been missing in action for a while now. And it looks like the developer has been using that extra time to give the game a bit of an, ahem, deep downgrade.
These new shots, taken from the water-based Green Dungeon, look fine we suppose – but they lack the next-gen sheen that was present when the release was first revealed. Writing on Twitter, producer Kazunori Sugiura promised that the team will continue working hard on the project in 2015, and that it hopes to meet everyone's expectations. The question is: are you starting to lose interest in this once hotly anticipated adventure?

Still looks impressive! Nothing to write about? I think this water based level is doing injustice to the games visuals..
@Sanquine It looks... Ok. But these screenshots aren't mind blowing like the early assets. Maybe it's just a bad batch.
Still looks cool, not super mind blowing, but cool enough.
If the gameplay is solid I think no one would mind this downgrade.
I don't really care about this game, graphic downgrade or not, I just hate the free to play model
The very first trailer blew me away... but after that they have gotten less and less impressive. To the point where i literally don't care at all for this game. It looks boring and as mentioned above, the free2play (pay2win) model is not one to be encouraged! ! It needs to be killed off
Looks okay but as said nothing to stop the presses about.
Once Bloodbourne and the Dark Souls 2 remake are released will there even be a market for this game? Given the amount of time they're taking, it doesn't seem worth it...
@Epic theres always that one group of people though that will think itll suck cuz the Graphics were downgraded... I for one am not, ill be getting this for my PS4 when i can!
Did anyone REALLY think it would look like the original reveal? It was a clear case of bullshotting!
You know what's going down?
Capcom.
I tought this game had been cancelled since it didn't came out in 2014! 0_o
Free-To-Play games suck.
It was cool when the ps4 was new, but with the order 1886 and bloodborne coming out in 2-3 months, i just dont care. I should be outraged, but i just feel "meh" about the game.
@get2sammyb To be fair Sammy the reveal trailer at the PS4 event was clearly CGI and not actual gameplay but tbh Capcom shouldn't have stuck a hud onto the trailer.
When are developers going to realize when they show us screenshots they better not be from a PC build unless its a PC game - nobody cares about fancy graphics if its just to make your game look better than the released product....COUGH Alien space marine COUGH
Well you really can't complain about graphics if it's free-to-play. It's all about gameplay.
At first, i thought you were on to something. I might just be spoiled by the the order 1886, but after some research i see they arnt any different, really. I think you'er just looking for views and thats not easy for me to say.
@get2sammyb
F2P Sammy, F2P. Says all that you need to know.
hey it's Capcom, they can't put their A game into a full blown retail release so what made you think they would for a free to play one?
I wish there was an industry wide clampdown on bullshotting. If people can't act correctly off their backs then their hand should be forced.
I'm waiting to see if that Dragon fire breath isn't the same as in the trailer? Then I'm out even if it's free.
What's wrong with F2P?
Ever tried Planetside or Path of Excile? Nothing wrong with that. F2P is not the same as P2W.
@get2sammyb I agree with @Sanquine it's hard to compare the fiery dragon and dragon itself to this plain old monster battle.
Could be some of the effects got extra love and this environments didn't. I would be fine with that.
@DualWielding Bottom Line is it cost money to create games. that's it, and some of these free to play are fun. deal with the comprise if not keep paying 60 bucks a game
@wittypixel
You don't have to pay 60 a game you can wait for sales and pay significantly less, that's what I do.....
Starting to look less like ps4 and more like PC indie averageness
I think it looks fine. Still looks good, the pictures could be the problem though, I want to see it in action before judging from those pictures.
I don't see it actually. They never matched the early PS4 announcement video (CG?) but everything else since then has been on about the same level.
