While it may not seem like it sometimes, we genuinely don’t enjoy reporting on broken games. It’s part of the reason why we’re so pleased to see DriveClub overcome its troubles and blossom into a really decent racing game – and also why we’ve got our fingers crossed tightly that Assassin’s Creed Unity will finally be fixed after its fourth patch.
Due out on the PlayStation 4 from 15th December, this humdinger promises to address issues with “stability and performance”, leading us to hope that its fluctuating framerate will be steadied at last. The full patch notes also reference crashing, error codes, online connectivity inconveniences, and much more. Peruse the lot through here.
Are you still interested in this Parisian escapade, or do you think that Ubisoft should be sent to the gallows for its QA crimes? Try not to lose your head in the comments section below.

I really can't get into Unity, I love assassins creed but not sure about this one. I go on it die, then go on something else....
I'd be thrilled to see it fixed up before I get to it. Probably take a huge download time for all those patches.
I'll admit I'm not ok with how Ubi bungled this, but I'll admit they seem to be doing a good job with fixing this. Of course it shouldn't have happened in the first place, but at least they're doing something and they know they screwed up. Hopefully, they now know and will do better with the next game.
Oh I thought it was fixed by now....maybe it's the XBox One version
Ps4 version runs just fine for me
About time, though it wouldn't be the end of the world if it stayed this way. At least Ubisoft was ambitious, but even if it isn't Battlefield 4 bad I can't say that makes this acceptable. Be lucky you guys have PS4, PC won't even run for me, you need some Chuck Norris-type **** to run it. Horribly optimized, another reason to use Steam and Orgin instead of Uplay.
AC3 went through seven patches.
It still has glitches.
Yeah, I'm not holding my breath for this one. Ubisoft will quietly shunt Unity aside by dangling the next AC game in front of gamers' faces like an increasingly mouldy carrot.
Had no issues at all.
Thoroughly enjoyed the game.
But what interests me is Unity gets all this grief, when games like Destiny are released with half the content gone thats ok.
Id rather a game like Unity coMe out, changing the whole system up, trying out new things, and have bugs than, things like CoD, the EXACT same thing, the EXACT same, with few bugs just in a new coat of paint.
@ToOGoodOfAPlaya Destiny got its fair share of criticism, and the new CoD saw declining sales from last year's entry. By no means were these games hailed as masterpieces or anything.
@DerMeister Same here, I don't plan on playing the game or owning a PS4 until Christmas 2016, surely the game will be fully patched by then?
I've given up on this game now. If they don't improve the frame rate on PS4 version I won't be playing it or any other AC in the future. Ubisoft are a great dev specialising in open world games. Far Cry 4 is a masterpiece but ACU just has been an utter disappointment.
I was disgusted they failed to fully optimise the PS4 version to 1080p, but that was the least of the problems as it turned out. The thing is struggling at 900p, it's full of glitches and the coop does not work. I've never been able to host or join a coop match ever, apart from the time the game just threw me into a coop party in error when I was climbing on a Notre Dame roof.
I don't think the issues are relate to the ambitious graphics. The game is just poorly coded and full of bugs. A rush job intended to cash in with an annual release. There will be no pre-order from me next year. Ubisoft have been given a great console by Sony and they just mess up the opportunity.
@Kage_88
AC3 ran smooth on the PS3 with zero screen tear. The first AC on PS3 without screen tear.
AC4 on PS4 was superb. Smooth as silk with highly detailed graphics.
ACU is full of glitches with very poor frame rate.
