Ever since Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel was announced, people have been crying out for a PlayStation 4 release, and so it's no surprise that the game, along with the critically acclaimed Borderlands 2, is gunning for Sony's newest console.
Dubbed The Handsome Collection, the two titles will, for the first time, feature four player split-screen co-op, along with cross-save functionality with both the PS3 and Vita versions of Borderlands 2, and will come packaged with every single piece of existing DLC, which even includes character customisation packs. Even more impressive is that the Pre-Sequel's season pass will come packed in with the bundle, so you'll be getting the release's upcoming content, too. Sounds like a rather meaty deal to us.
The collection will release on the 24th March, with a retail price of $59.99 in North America. Are you ready to grab some more outrageous weaponry? Drown under a sea of loot in the comments section below.

I wasn't that into this bundle until the split-screen thing came up. That's actually awesome.
Glad I never got The Pre-Sequel then, i'll be getting The Handsome Collection to play The Pre-Sequel & play Borderlands 2 again. God my PS4 collection is getting big.
This is great news for me, I still haven't started 2 yet (only finally got round to finishing the first game the other week), and hadn't picked up the pre-sequel, so looks like I'll be enjoying them on PS4 instead!
Oh for Pete sake!
Shared trophy list with 2 and I am all over it!
I've played Bordelands 2 at least twice on the PC, I'm going to buy it again for the PS4, it's a great game.
Well I did buy RE HD, TLOU remastered, and tomb raider for ps4, but still maybe we can cut back on the ports just a tad.
I hope they announce it for europe too. I'm definitely going to buy it. Strange that the original isn't included.
edit: it is announced for europa. Also awesome that all the upcoming pre sequel dlc will be added as free updates for the ps4 version.
@shogunrok the European playstation blog also stated that all upcoming season pass and playable character dlc for the pre sequel will be free for the ps4 version.
@darkswabber Just saw the EU post, and updated the article. Thanks!
@thedevilsjester Surely you want a separate Trophy list if you're going to buy it again, no?
@get2sammyb I will only buy it again to finish everything I didn't before (including trophies). If I have to start over (and still have a half finished trophy list) I may as well just play the version I have. To be able to finish everything up and finally platinum them on the PS4 is worth buying them again.
@thedevilsjester Separate trophy list and I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Why I didn't buy it for Vita (well that and it plays like a dogs dinner). Played the game God knows how many times and only thing that would make me touch it on PS4 would be earning something from it. Nothing is being added, it will look no different, why should I purchase the game again? Not even about trophies (although I am a trophy whore sadly) there's just no incentive for a Borderlands nut like myself to touch this if there is no separate trophy list.
Borderlands 2 was free through PlayStation Plus not that long ago and Im pretty close to finishing it. If Tesco have this bundle for the usual £45 I might pick it up but I don't think I'll pay £55 through GAME. I wish Borderlands 1 was included so we'd have the complete set.
With all the remastered games coming to PS4 I wish Bathesda would give us a remaster of Skyrim and Fallout 3. That would keep most of us happy whilst we wait for Fallout 4...
60 fps or no buy
@rastamadeus separate trophy list makes no sense if it's cross save compatible. A few games have done this and it's just stupid. For example Sly Cooper PS3/Vita. I loaded my PS3 save into my Vita copy and instant platinum. Even with a few different things to accomplish (assuming it's not a direct copy, just separate) it would be trivial to double dip and get a second platinum for no work.
I still need to delve into this series. The closest I've come thus far is takes from the borderlands which I actually really liked lol so still interested in checking these games out
Borderlands 1, 2 and the pre-sequel or only the last two games?
They should have added bl1 also to make it a real collection but Im still gonna get it since I haven't play bl2 nor the pre sequel I'm glad I waited lol
@Faruko dunno if that's any indication, but there is a 60fps version of the trailer around, and the gameplay does run at 60 in that. Can't see why they would include that in the trailer if it's not in the final release. But then again, who knows?
@DrClayman thats pretty cool !
Love your avatar by the way
@Faruko Right back at ya
Oh......Awesome! Cool I can just upload my BL2 save data from my Vita and continue my looting on the bigger screen and play the Pre-Sequel, great!
@Reverandjames Prepare to wake up at the end of this month and so forth. Plenty of "next gen" exclusives coming out this year. This is the year.
Ah, finally, a port I can get behind!
Quit playing the Vita version due to the wonky rear touchpad controls, but with cross save I can just keep on playing! This is like the first time cross save actually benefits me.
That's a great deal! If my backlog wasn't getting rediculous already I would be all over this.
I didn't play Pre Sequel as I thought it would eventually be released on ps4, so this is a day one for me. I've still not played a couple of the campaign DLCs' so that's a bonus, but if it runs at 60fps then that's sealed the deal. This is excellent value anyway as it includes the season pass for pre sequel but if you've never played BL2 then this is essential.
@shogunrok I was wrong. The package doesn't include the season pass but a playable class and campaign dlc that is included in the season pass and will be revealed and released before march 24. At least that's what the official website of borderlands says.
While it would've been nice if B1 was included, this is a very handsome package that I am certainly interested in.
Um.......of course I'll be buying this!
Got a Platinum in the first game, never got around to buying the second, so this sounds perfect for me!
Haven't really gotten into the series. It's something I've wanted to play but other games I've wanted usually came first. I'll eventually get Borderlands 1 on PS3. This is more of a "maybe" though. Even with the extra content.
@darkswabber Oh dear, it seems to be a little bit more complex than we thought. I'll update the article as soon as we have concrete information, but thanks for the heads up.
@ShogunRok I'm sure I read yesterday that season pass was included..still looking forward to it tho,really loved borderlands 1 and 2..I have got quite a backlog tho as I've been in Philippines since start of October and my ps4 is at home in UK..whats your thoughts on remasters(dark souls for example)?..
Think we will be getting much of a performance/visual upgrade with this?...definitely buying this if the price is right..Like someone above posted £45 or even £40..loved borderlands 2 and I haven't played the pre sequel
@teknium_ I honestly don't mind remasters as long as they're worth it. For example, I feel like GTAV on PS4 was done really well, but there are others that don't actually improve the game as much as you'd like.
Still, if I really like a game, I tend to play it a lot and stick with it, so I'd never argue about my favourites getting the remaster treatment.
@ShogunRok kind of the same here to be honest..its a good thing if they are done well..gta is one of the games in my back log I can't wait to play..and im really looking forward to the dark souls 2 remaster as i only played the beta on ps3
@ShogunRok @darkswabber It says here pretty clearly that the season pass is included. It's from the trailer btw
@darkswabber It does come with the full pre-sequel season pass. It points this out to extremely noticeable degree in the actual trailer that on this site at 0:16.
@DrClayman lol beat me too it lol
@DrClayman that's how I read it yesterday on another site..and that's what made me think what a good deal this could be if price is right
@BigBadDogIV only by a minute
@teknium_ probably. If it's post release plans are like BL2, I'm assuming this will include all season pass content, but not anything after that (like the headhunter packs in BL2). Which even then, is still great value.
Good lord! Yet another PS3 remaster job? Give me a break. The gaming industry is getting worse than the movie industry. No more original ideas.
While this is a good value, technically speaking, it's beyond the point of ridiculous at this point.
Create. New. Games. Every second wasted on all these stupid PS3 remasters is time better spent doing ANYTHING else. For example, why don't these greedy, idiotic companies spend the manpower to actually make their new PS4 games work correctly out of the box instead of releasing glitchy turds for $60?
@KillTheG1mp This collection only has Borderlands 2 and Pre-Sequel. No plans for Borderlands 1 to be PS4'd.
@Reverandjames There are plenty, even if you filter out the cross-gen games. If you meant exclusives though, there's only a few, but that makes sense for now.
@DerMeister I've only played BL1, but from my experience I probably won't play BL2 or Pre-Sequel, mostly due to the lack of a real story and that the series main focus is multi-player, which I don't like.
@Godsire- While i agree there should be more focus on making actual new games, at the same time I don't mind the HD Remasters either, they help attract new players/fans.
@ToddlerNaruto
Let me clarify something here.....
I don't mind HD Remasters. I actually liked all the PS3 HD collections and thought they were amazing value. But those collections didn't come out 1 yr. after the PS3 was released. They came out long into the PS3's lifespan. By the time those were released, the PS2 was all but dead & buried.
But this PS4 remake situation is totally different to me. Most of these games just came out a couple years ago. And there is very little to no improvements to these products.
Take the RE Remaster for example. That is a remake/remaster I can get behind. It is a Gamecube game that has been improved to a huge extent. If Gearbox's next game gets released with some day 1 patch because it's a buggy mess, then I would ask them.........did you really need to use the manpower to make this collection?
Oh and I would also tell them to piss off for Aliens: Colonial Marines. Lol.
Why not include the first one too? That's kinda odd. More then likely will pick up this game at some point.
@Godsire-
It makes a lot of sense to me to do remakes/remasters, even in close proximity to the original release. People who still only own PS3 probably already have it. People who only own a PS4 because they are new to Sony or no longer have their PS3 can still have it. People like me who have a PS3 and PS4, but are no longer really buying PS3 games, can buy it. I never bought BL2 on PS3 because I knew I was getting a PS4 and was sort of in a gaming lull. Now I have the chance to play BL2 and TPS with all the additional content, upgraded, for a reasonable price, I love it. The bottom line is, it's minimal work compared to making a new game and it opens up a big revenue stream, and it may help Sony by brining even more people to the platform.
@Tasuki
At this point the fist game is getting rather long in the tooth, would look bad in comparison to BL2 and TPS, and it would be more costly to remaster it than the amount of additional sales it would get just for including it. Bean counter decision, I am sure. Doesn't make sense money wise. Plus almost everyone with a PS3 who wanted to has already played it.
@Godsire- Ah okay. I must admit I agree they should have waited like 2-3 years before releasing the PS4 HD Remasters (remakes).
