It may come as a shock, but PlayStation 4 co-op based shooter Evolve actually has a mode that you can play all by yourself, without having to interact with real people.
Whether you knew this existed or not, you can get a good look at it in the 20 minute gameplay video that we've embedded. You can apply the solo settings to any game mode, and it allows you to play as the hunters or the monster without jumping online, with the artificial intelligence taking on the roles of everyone else. You can even switch between the four hunters at will when you're busy tracking down one of the beasts.
It's certainly a thoughtful addition for anyone who doesn't fancy being social, but is it something that you'd make use of? Trap us in the comments section below.

This game, before even launch they announced a extra monster for like $15, what a rip off...
All of a sudden I am interested in evolve again. The online multiplayer part meant I was not going to play it
That's pretty neat. More games should follow this example. Plus the game will still be playable after it goes offline now.
@Mrskinner I honestly wouldn't bother, unless you have a few good friends that are gonna buy it too.
The mandatory online was a big turn off for me, as the game looks interesting.
So it has a solo mode, that I heard. The one question I still need answered though, is does the game require a connection to their servers nonetheless? If it's TRULY got offline single player, I might be interested. More than might, I would be interested.
Interesting but still not sure I'd want to spend the full $60 when there's other games coming out that I'm much more hyped for.
@GraveLordXD It looks like this is purely just a way to play the game without other people, rather than an actual campaign. No word on whether you need to be connected to a server, though. Having said that, surely you shouldn't have to be?
@GraveLordXD I just saw something on Facebook that said the solo mode was offline.
Might buy at $30 or less now instead of not at all, the biggest problem I had in left 4 dead was how people rage quit constantly (turtle rock also made left 4 dead).
I think this game will become the same old very fast... Hunt monster... Kill monster... Do it again...and again lol or hide from humans... Wait for the Noob to split from group... Kill him/her... Hunt rest and try not to die.
The AI was terrible in L4D and L4D2 to the point where playing offline wasn't even fun, given it's made by the same studio I wouldn't have high hopes for this mode. Coop games are at their best when playing with friends and good coordination, not with crap AI who let's you die instead of helping you out because it hasn't been programmed to act like a human being would!
Great, multiplayer is good, but single player is essential
@JaxonH
Sometimes one can disable the consoles network connection and games which look for a server become playable in single player. Dragon age was an example of this during the Christmas downtime on PSN
well a map with AI bot is not really a single player mode... can u argue that Counter Strike or Dota2 is a single player game?
