With the servers finally running as smooth as a Swiss clock, Evolution Studios looks like it's getting ready to announce DriveClub's latest update. On its Facebook page, it's uploaded an image of a white sports car rushing down a road bordered by Cherry Blossom trees. Earlier in the year, it was rumoured that Japan would be one of the new locales added to the release – which just so happens to be famous for its pretty pink foliage.
Despite some disastrous launch issues, the PlayStation 4 exclusive racer has come into its own in recent weeks – largely due to the addition of the game's outstanding weather patch. The developer committed to a regular post-release content schedule prior to the core package's launch, which was extended after it was forced to giveaway the first DLC pack as an apology for the title's stalled start.
The best part about all of this is that according to that original itinerary, everyone that owns the game will be able to race on the new circuits for free. Like the weather patch, you'll need to purchase additional Tour Packs if you want specific single player content to beat, but we reckon that this is a fair deal. Looks really pretty, PS Plus edition please!
With Japanese cars please
Loved the game since day 1 despite the issues.
Very much considering the season pass now.
@3Above Same here, been waiting forever. Just hope it lives it to the hype too once we get it.
@3Above @wittypixel It's a fantastic game, but I think people will be disappointed with the PlayStation Plus version, purely because it doesn't sound like you get enough of the game to make it worth it.
Honestly, at this point, I think they're better off waiting until all of the DLC is out, and then maybe putting the whole game on PS Plus. There'll be plenty of DLC at that point, so they'll be able to make the money back through Season Passes.
@get2sammyb I would agree with you completely, if what they're giving us is demo-esque then there will be a whole knew storm when the PS + edition gets released
I just play the single player. The people online dont race properly so it just becomes a demolishon derby.
@goonow yes this is the really annoyin part but i have some tips that have totally helped me just leave them for dust;
1. Approaching each corner you will see either flags or smoke and these will be the following colours;
Red - hard brake
Yellow - medimum brake
Green - minimal/no brake - take finger off accelerator and re apply to fly through
2. Feather the accelerator, its pressure sensitive so use it half way etc, not just full on or full off.
3. Brake straight line, off brake, turn, apex, at apex feather the accelerator back on up to full speed ( dont apex and then full on accelerate, you will spin and lose traction and speed )
4. Hang back on the 1st corner, they will take each other out and then doing the above within a few turns you will be top 3.
Hope this helps and pick cars with a good acceleration rating.
@Zep_Fan_81 Great tips, thanks!
@get2sammyb your welcome. I had to do a bit of searching on the internet to find out as the game is finally in its good and proper state but my driving technique was killing it for me.
Ps4 reddit was really helpful. I did notice over there a new podcast called ' press square'. Thought it was you guys ...
