Assassin's Creed Unity's free expansion pack Dead Kings ain't especially great. We can appreciate the apology from Ubisoft, but the PlayStation 4 title's core is so rotten that we found playing through the epilogue a bit of a chore. The thought of plunging into Paris for a third time, then, has this author breaking out in cold sweats. Please gaming gods, have mercy on our souls!
While we reckon that the release was a bit of a shambles, though, we know that a fair few of you enjoyed it, so we should probably tell you about the title's latest DLC pack, Secrets of the Revolution. Available as part of this week's PlayStation Store update for £5.49/$6.99 (or free with the title's Season Pass) it includes a handful of missions, gear, and more.
The new objectives include The Chemical Revolution – which was originally a pre-order bonus – as well as The American Prisoner and Killed by Science. You'll also get a bunch of new armour and weapons to use, which should come in useful if you haven't unlocked every darn chest yet. Are you willing to invest a little more time into this entry? I really enjoy Unity, however I wouldn't pay that for that content. I have the Chemical revolution from pre order which was around a 5 minute mission. If the other 2 missions are the same, then 15-20 minutes content and a few costumes isn't worth the payout.
Hold on, I thought Ubi Soft promised all DLC would be free and the season pass discontinued because of the shambles of a launch, now it's only Dead Kings?
@Jonny Nah, it was only ever Dead Kings.
@Jonny Yeah that's what I thought. Could have sworn Ubi said that...
Probably won't play it either way regardless though...
@Dodoo They said they were giving away Dead Kings free, they discontinued the season pass so those who didnt already have it couldnt buy one after they offered the free game, just to get the free game.
@ToOGoodOfAPlaya Thanks for t he clarification
@Dodoo
The season pass is discontinued, that is why the dlc is actually pretty cheap, besides the free dead kings dlc
@Dodoo No worries.
To be honest given that after playing DK through, and not having various trophies unlocking and weapons unequippable, perhaps they should have all the dlc for free!
I started playing unity on the weekend.
I got shot while climbing up a building and became locked in midair.
During a fight I became locked in to the parkour controls for whatever reason and was beaten to death while running around a room.
During sequence 6 A enemy merged with a fruit stand, fortunately his head was visible and could be shot.
Outside of these harmful glitches I've had civilians wander into restricted areas though walls and start screaming for help when I'm doing assassinations although nothing appeared to happen, and a noticeable amount of civs walk into walls until they disappear.
I got AC1 & 2 last week, so I can wait on Unity. The DLC, judging from the titles anyway, doesn't sound too bad. Hopefully the whole thing is worth paying for.
@get2sammyb Also, Killed by Science can be purchased from UPlay for a pittance of 10 points, so if someone is buying this for the missions you could potentially only get one you don't already have (if you pre-ordered or got a pre-order run copy).
I got the chemical Revolution for free with my game, so I won't bother with this dlc. Anyway the game is big enough, so it doesn't really need dlc.
