It's behind you

Given that it was developed in the humble West Sussex town of Horsham, it's no surprise to see Alien: Isolation lead the charge at this year's BAFTA Games Awards. While the event always has a global presence, it tends to champion British titles above all else, and that's clear with the aforementioned survival horror scoring six nominations, including Best Game.

The release is also up for British Game, Game Design, Game Innovation, Audio Achievement, and Music gongs. To be honest, if it doesn't win the sound design category, then we're going to turn up at London's Tobacco Dock – where the ceremony is being hosted – with pitchforks. It's up against the likes of The Banner Saga and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare in that section.

Meanwhile, Destiny, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Mario Kart 8, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, and Monument Valley will battle it out in the Game of the Year category. A number of PlayStation exclusives made the cut, with LittleBigPlanet 3 nominated for Best Family Game, while add-on The Last of Us: Left Behind scooped up Performance and Story nods.
