Destiny's 1.1.1 patch is finally launching tonight, Bungie has confirmed via Twitter. As such, Guardians may be kicked from their current games, or may experience some technical hiccups.
As for the update itself, it primarily focuses on weapon balancing. Underused for good reason, Pulse Rifles are receiving a pretty meaty 9.7 per cent base damage buff, while other weapon types are being scaled back. For instance, Auto Rifles are having their effective range cut down, while Fusion Rifles now have a bigger spread, making them less accurate. Shotguns should also prove to be more effective during tougher activities, as they've been gifted a rather whopping 100 per cent damage boost against anything that isn't another player.
On top of all this, the patch fixes numerous smaller issues, like the now infamous heavy ammo bug. You can peruse the vast amount of changes by clicking through here.
Does the update sound good to you? Have you got a Pulse Rifle that you've been dying to use? Blow us away in the comments section below.

I think the fact that weekly heroic strikes now have matchmaking deserves to be mentioned. That's the best bit if you ask me. I'm not too excited about the weapon nerfs though. Execpt for the shotgun one, since those often feel like the bane of my existence in the Crucible.
They gotta fix loot in the game. #1 biggest complaint.
@Jaz007 I was just about to post this myself. Defiantly the biggest change in the patch.
but...I always used Pulse rifles lol does that mean I used the weakest guns? xD
no wonder I'm still lvl 29 on both my characters. (mind you..havent played since the slap in the face called The Dark Below came out)
Anyway: There is so much more they need to fix...I cant be the only one who has stopped playing. Actually...I would love to see how much the numbers have dropped...I dont normally say this but: Bungie friggin deserves Destiny to fail.
I get so mad every time I think about how great this game could've been if they hadn't changed the game to make as much money as possible. Thats the problem with most AAA devs/publishers: they want more and more and more, nothing is ever enough. Even if it means destroying their game's heart and soul.
Stopped playing 3-4 weeks after The Dark Below came out, to much cheating (cheesing) and the loot was to easy to get. I have the second expansion waiting even paid for, and it will never get played. I have a Warlock that has all the armor to get it to 32 it would just need them lv'n up and my Titan and Hunter both only need one item to get to 32 and the only gun I need from Crapa sorry Crota is the rocket launcher and I have them all. That poor kid that had his characters deleted is welcome to them as far as i'm concerned he can have my gear if it was possible. Such a promising game ruined by the community/Bunjie and Activision.
Everytime a destiny article is written a bunch of people moan about only playing it for months and not playing anymore. Activision know this. Its designed like this. So when the next expansion pops up you jump back in, play it for a few weeks, then bail until the next one. They keep the updates trickling out so they maintain our interest and we don't trade in the base game. If for some reason you are jaded by the experience have a break and come back in a few months.
@themcnoisy I have the next expansion waiting but nothing could make me reinstall Destiny, biggest dissapointment PS4 era.
@xMEADx now that's fine, and its your opinion. But if it was such a massive disappointment why have you got 3, level 32 characters? Getting to that stage must of took what 70-90 hours? Surely if it was that bad you would of stopped before. There's things with destiny I don't like, but its actually a well executed game. Are you saying if the next dlc is superb you wont pick it up again? That said if you are giving away free gear I need a Titans legendary armour please. If its because you are fed up with the community you are more than welcome to help me with some strikes because I'm pretty rubbish and need the help. And I'm non offensive expect when an engram is a rubbish rare.
@themcnoisy
Well executed game? Sorry, I have to disagree. A lot. I have fun with it, and there are plenty of great elements; I've been playing it almost every night lately--after I put it down for months--but even if it didn't cost FIVE HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS to make, the game would still be mediocre. As it is, it's inexcusable. For one, they tell you nothing about how to play the game. They tell you nothing about how the strikes work and what you need to unlock certain things--like how to level up past level 20; the stats for weapons are not explained (for instance, what attack means as opposed to impact) and there are plenty of errors in the things they do try to explain (for instance, stating that a certain scope adds range and increases recoil, while the bars by the stats illustrate the opposite...so which is it?) The crucible is one of the least balanced things I've ever played, and it uses your equipment from PvE but doesn't explain which stats actually don't matter, like the “attack” attribute. Everything in the game is basically thrown at you and the developer says “figure it out”. The results at the end of strikes and other team-based missions are always incorrect, as it almost always says everyone has zero precision kills, no matter how many you achieve. The story is lackluster, to say the least, and acts more as an excuse to kill things. All of the patrol missions are either "kill enemies" or "go to this spot and hold square". The enemy designs are interesting, but there are essentially only 5 or 6 enemy types in the entire game, with different palette swaps. They even got lazy with the bosses, and just made every single boss a bigger version of an existing enemy. There are invisible walls all over the place, giving you the illusion of an open world, but you really can't explore much of anything (not that it would matter, because all you would be doing is killing more things for no reason) The difficulty in the game is one of the worst offenders, as it doesn't provide any legitimate difficulty. Rather, it just throws more enemies at you and makes them take twice as many hits. The loot system is jacked. The enemy AI is jacked. Weapon balancing is jacked (but hopefully that issue is fixed) The Tower is a mess. There's no matchmaking for Raids, so I honestly couldn't tell you how they are, as I've never gotten the chance to play one. Most of the stuff that should have been in the game in the first place Bungie says is "on the app" or "on the website". Clans, groups, story and lore, etc. The voice talent is mostly mediocre, but that might be due to the fact that the story just isn't there, and the script isn't great, so the actors couldn't get into the part. Some of the issues with the game I can't even understand how they made it past the alpha stage. Seriously, you can't run and reload at the same time, because this is still 2001, apparently. Sometimes you just die instantly because you enter a part of the map where the game doesn't think you should be. Other times you die because an enemy can spawn inside of you. There's no friendly fire, but your teammates can accidentally kill you if they hit you with their speeder. What's worse is when you're on a bounty, these kills actually count against you if you're trying to survive a strike or something.
/rant.
@themcnoisy I stopped because of the cheesing hiding in corners where mobs are unable to reach you and taking pot shots at a boss in a nightfall for example, I gave it until after the second raid was introduced and when Crota was worse than The Temple of Glass i'd had enough ,cheese the light's then the bridge then cheese the witch, they might as well of just made the whole raid one boss fight and just give everybody the other chests as they walk in. That timed chest soooooo annoying, not because its hard but because every feckin time we did it we would have to wait for eveybody to switch charchters and get the chest on every char before we continued on our way because it was easier than doing it the way it was intended, seperateley on each charachter..MORE CHEESE.. By the way try over 300 hours of play time to get there and you might be close. If I could give you my gear I would Destiny to me isn't worth the time I have to put into the game, the loot system now is terrible, everybody wants every gun and when they dont get it they kick and scream and QQ on forums until they drop so frequently that most people have them now, do they not understand that rare items are supposed to be well.....rare. When every single person in the game has the same gun then it's not rare anymore and no even if the new expansion is great I still will not be playing it because even if the raid is great the rest of the game is still broken.
@grenworthshero Completely effing agree with you.
@grenworthshero I cant disagree with anything you have said. I also cant believe the precision kills score (mentioned it on another section) but the point was that loads of people moan about not playing it now and hate it when they have had hundreds of hours of game time, I can count on one hand the games I've played for over 100hours. Its well executed gun play and very satisfying, but the points you make are valid and true and annoying.
@xMEADx send me a friend request I don't do cheese (except on toast and vengaboys) and you can help me out.
@themcnoisy honestley I would but I really dont play anymore, the people I used to play with are always bugging me to play again, I suppose I should never say never but I very much doubt I will I sent you a FR anyways mate (I can never tell if people actualy mean what they write) just incase
Never mind lol "themcnoisy" doesnt seem to be your gamertag, well xMEADx is mine feel free to send me a FR.
