We've been waiting almost a decade, but you'll finally get your chance to to play Final Fantasy XV in the relatively near future thanks to the game's demo that comes bundled with Final Fantasy Type-0 HD.
If you've been busy getting yourself all hyped up for the upcoming glimpse of Noctis' gorgeous looking adventure, then you'll likely be interested in a few of the demo's finer details that come courtesy of Famitsu magazine. Kindly translated by Siliconera, the publication reveals that the demo's actually going to be quite robust.
For starters, it'll take place in the same area that we've seen during most of the title's trailers. You'll be running around grassy plains, weaving through outlying forests, and stumbling across caves, which house monsters that are stronger than those you'll encounter outside.
You'll also be making use of the role-playing game's camp system, which allows you to level up your characters, tweak your equipment, and cook food. By preparing meals, you'll level up a cooking statistic, and by eating them, you'll gain beneficial effects. The good news is that monsters will drop ingredients after they're defeated, so you won't have to trudge all the way back to a town in order to grab what you need to make your next dinner.
Perhaps the most intriguing titbit, though, is that you'll be able to hunt down a Behemoth enemy. It'll likely be the strongest opponent that you can face in the demo, and we reckon that its presence will be enough to spark off plenty of videos that feature players bringing it down in record time.
And finally, much to the relief of many fans, it's been confirmed that you won't be met with a game over screen if the character you're in control of gets clobbered. Instead, your fellow party members will try and revive you, which sounds like a massive improvement over Final Fantasy XIII's rather controversial approach.
It's also worth remembering that you can get a live peek at the demo later this week, as Square Enix will be streaming it on its YouTube channel. Do you plan on watching? Have you already put in your pre-order for Type-0 HD? Dream of finally getting your hands on the release in the comments section below.

@rockman29
Ditto.
The only time that was worth it was Zone Of The Enders with MGS2 as a demo.....and that's because the demo had hours of fun involved and ZOE turned out to be a great game as well.
Ahh - why did I spoil myself? Sounds really interesting I think.
And it's just a bonus. I preordered type 0 for type 0, episode Duscae is just...there don't play it if you want to wait longer
I can't wait for more final fantasy. I wasn't really a fan of the lost lot. Then again my favourite was 8 which most people seem to dislike.
@robisa666
Who the hell dislikes 8?! That is one of the most beloved games of all time.
@3rdEyeMind well I think so yeah but I've heard a lot of people show dislike for 8.
@robisa666 ff8 is the best ff in my opinion as well. I loved junctioning and messing with the systems whilst using the card abilities to turn items to cards into different items to then junction to your stats. Depth was immense, loads of Easter eggs, nice roster of characters, actual context and being involved in civil wars. Top game.
@3rdEyeMind i remember that demo so well, spent so much time screwing around with guards and shooting the fruit in the kitchen...good times
Square Enix trolling
@3rdEyeMind FF8 was one of my least favorite final fantasies. I tried it again recently and just couldn't get into it. I felt like the junction system was a good idea but ultimately was just annoying. Triple triad was pretty great though.
@sham8nix
It's arguably the greatest demo ever made.
I have such vivid and special memories of it. I was horrified to find out that the Tanker mission was to end shortly after and turn into a polarizing campaign too caught up it's hype (all whilst playing as a whiney, blonde woman wannabe) come full game release.
