Despite getting an extended section during PlayStation Experience, the PlayStation Vita's fall from grace has been pretty, well, sudden. We suppose that it was clear from the start that the format would never set the world on fire, but we'd expected a little more effort from the platform holder beyond Killzone: Mercenary and Tearaway.
This is probably what the future holds for the portable moving forwards, though: 60 second sizzle reels. The clip focuses on forthcoming Spring 2015 releases, with Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines, Hotline Miami 2, Helldivers, and Shovel Knight all on display. To be fair, that's a pretty strong lineup – even if it is largely lacking the big exclusives that you lot want.
The biggest disappointment is perhaps the fact that the video spends half of its running time trying to flog PlayStation Now and Remote Play, rather than focus on the other releases in the pipeline for Sony's underrated machine. Is there anything here that takes your fancy, or is this trailer just adding insult to injury as far as you're concerned? Shed a tear in the comments section below.

Oreshika.
Yeah, as the article says, that's actually a pretty strong little line-up.
There is one game I know little about, apart from some killer footage I've seen, but I'm looking forward to playing on my Vita more than anything else: Salt & Santuary. I hope it gets a release date soon.
Shovel Knight and the Vita are a match made in heaven btw. I sometimes wish I could play my 3ds games on my Vita, than it would be the best handheld ever made. For me it still is, but not because of cool exclusives, but because of lots of indie titles I wouldn't have played in a million years if it wasn't for my sweet sweet Vitamin P.
Lotta announced Vita games I can't wait to come out, lotta Vita games I want that's already out, lotta Vita games to play in my backlog.
When 3 indies and 1 unknow game (for most people) is considered a strong line up you are in deep, deep troubles.
Cool and good games no doubt (i certainly know ill enjoy Hotline 2 and already did with Shovel Knight on my WiiU), but i cant believe thats their focus.
I've been getting more mileage out of my Vita lately. Granted, it hasn't been exclusives. It makes a great second/third controller in PS3 Spelunky games, for instance. The Vita-user is not tied to the rest of the party when doing multiplayer. Lots of Rogue Legacy when I'm not at home.
There are more games I would play if I had both the time and the budget.
It's a wonderful, beautiful machine.
There are wonderful games for it. It's worth so much more love than it gets.
I'm having a bit of buyers remorse when it comes to the Vita, next time I won't be so late to the show.
Reguardless, Sony should continue on with mobile consoles, but the next iteration, be it just an evolution of the Vita or brand new hardware.....absolutely needs to mimic the dual shock 4 layout, until it does PS Now and remote play are a bit crippled.
I love Sony, but they really screwed over the Vita with their marketing, it was probably worse marketing than the WiiU marketing.
None of the games mentioned besides Shovel Knight really interest me.
I am more intetested in Bastion, The Banner Saga, Hand Of Fate, & Rainbow Skies.
it's still awesome console for JRPG games.
But yeah, I agree for some 3DS games also better on Vita.
They will provide better controls, interface, graphics etc.
(Imagine MH4U)
But the human world do things differently...in unknown way, lol
I really can't wait to not play this game, come on sony we want open world adventure fps RPGs for the vita, but I ain't against indies jus need titles to fit the vita...... What's wrong with asking that.
@Boerewors Hahaha In my household whenever I haven't gotten laid in a while I jokingly tell my wife she hasn't been getting enough Vitamin P. You can't get enough Vitamin Penis, Sir Borrewors.
@glassmusic
Haha.. I actually wrote it down because it made me think of the vitamin D jokes I'm always making (open up, here it comes). Good to know I'm not the only terrible husband!
I'm glad Vita is stronger than Wii U now and getting the market better in sales and games.
If you own a vita make sure you buy a grip. The console itself gives you cramp within a few minutes if you don't have one. Its a great machine and shovel knight is gonna be boss. But you should buy a grip.
Lineup is weak for me personally, all I want is Hotline Miami.
@italodance I'm fairly certain Wii U has been out selling the Vita for some time now.
@Sevenifity you mean like putting your games on a handheld that has around 5 times its player base !? That its a pretty dumb thing to do...
I must admit, I haven't used my vita much lately. My first two games were Ys: Memories of Celceta (my first ever ys title) and danganronpa: trigger happy havoc. I completed those, gravity rush when free and the sequel to danganronpa. Right now, nothing new appeals to me - I look into Vita's 'better years' and get things from those times!
Well at least we're getting something for Vita in 2015. Hotline2 and Oreshika are the titles I'm interested in.
This video is just sad...=/
@Faruko Putting games on The Most Awesome Handheld in all times? It's not dumb, It's Genius.
I own all consoles and handheld and play all kind of games.
By experiencing all of them (and still playing all them everyday)
So yeah, once again, putting more great games on PS Vita is the brightest idea to do. Sony should do better and turn the table:)
@Sevenifity So they are going to put them in the gameboy advance ? didnt knew the GBA had such power
@Faruko Yes they have that power, it's called The power of Fanboy, lol
iv seen a teaser about killzone mercs 2 is in the pipeline for vita .so imo all is not lost ,if its true that ism i love mercs im still playin it now. hard plat to gain aswell
I can't remember if this was announced for Vita but I think Darkest Dungeon would be a perfect fit, it's been getting a lot of praise on PC.
Does it really exist? Because its rarely featured in the news, opinion pieces, features, no reputable site is covering it much, no major parties is paying any attention, no highly anticipated titles, negative stigma, stripping existing support (YT) and nobody talks about it much. This is a horrible existence.
This bodes well for Resident Evil R2, oh and the one exclusive actually featured was never formally delayed from 2014 into Spring 2015 until that video went live. Lineup by the way, is appalling.
@ShogunRok
If this were a PS4 montage or even a PS3 one, i would agree. This is a horrible lineup.
@Sevenifity jokes aside, i like my Vita, but... i just dont have a reason to play on it besides the occasional "weird" game.
Im kinda mad that i spent that much money and Sony decide to forgot its existence almost right away, especailly here in the west... indie games are cool and everything but they are in almost every gaming machine possible
I need a BIG reason to play my Vita, Mercenaries was cool but end up being what i feared about it, that FPS games on a handheld are a novelty IMO :/ dont get me wrong, there are good games but they are few and far between and not enough
it bafles me mostly because the WiiU is in the same place but at least Nintendo is doing something about it and releasing games with a decent frequency that even they know they wont work
[/sub]please watch the language -Tasuki-[/sub]
My primary portable is my 3DS (as I'm mainly a Nintendo guy), but the Vita does have enough solid games in its library as is, but the problem is that Sony has been too wishy-washy about its overall support (outside Japan) moving forward. Two major games I am looking forward this year is RE:Revelations 2 and P4: Dancing All Night. Personally, I'd be fine with these two this year, but without a steady number of big releases through the year it'll just perpetuate the perception that it "doesn't have games."
I'm shocked to be saying this, but I'll probably end up owning a 3DS first before I get a Vita...which is scary since I'm a big PS/Sony supporter.
Maybe if Sony ever makes more Vita games I care about....but doubt it.
