While we're still waiting patiently for Yakuza 5's launch here in the West, the lucky folks over in Japan are preparing themselves for the release of Yakuza Zero – an eighties themed prequel which aims to tell series protagonist Kazuma Kiryu's origin story. Due out on 12th March in the Land of the Rising Sun, publisher SEGA has also deployed a meaty PlayStation 4 demo, which has been captured on video below.
In it, you'll get to watch dozens of uber-stylish cut-scenes involving punch ups, snazzy suits, and cigarettes. There's also a hearty helping of gameplay; from traditional exploration right the way through to the odd brawl, there's plenty to see here. There's no word on whether this entry will make the long journey overseas, but we suspect that it will hinge heavily on how its numbered PS3 predecessor sells. Fingers crossed, eh?

So effing good!
One of my fave franchises of all time.
I like Yakuza and can't wait for 5 to be released here... But this footage looks, well..PS3ey actually.
If the games were subtitled, I'd just port them over.
Hopefully this comes west and I'll get the chance to beat someone senseless with a giant carphone.
I'm trying Yakuza for the first time after getting 4 for free on PS+ and definitely interested on trying other games in the franchise
wished they would stick in a cameo of ryo hazuki in there , I'd have him waiting or just finishing his turn on super hang-on .
