It's such a shame that DriveClub stalled at launch, because we actually think that its post-release support has transformed it into one of the best games on the PlayStation 4. First impressions are all-important, however, and no matter how good the exclusive racer gets, it will always be let down by those torrid first few months. Credit where credit's due, though: developer Evolution Studios is still working to put things right.
Alongside the confirmation of the game's latest patch – which includes replays, further visual improvements, and much more – the Runcorn-based racing game specialist gave a little update on the title's overdue PlayStation Plus version. It said that it was continuing to "improve online stability and performance for all current players" in order to enable the freebie. There's still no timeline for this, then, which is a shame.
We maintain that the studio will just give away the core game once all of its DLC is out, as the Season Pass has already added a substantial amount of content to the release – and could represent a real lucrative revenue stream for the platform holder should it get the title into enough people's hands. Would you be satisfied with the full package, though – or has this sorry saga gone on for far too long? Honk your horn in the comments section below.

improving servers takes like 6 months?
Yes. The full packaged game will be a nice thing for those that have waited so long for the free version. Don't know how everyone else feels about that.
Why a Plus Edition?! The only way I'll get this game at this point is if they gave the full game away as a freebie.
I understand not giving away the full game at launch but I think it's been out long enough for them to just give us the full game at this point.
I hope they just give one car and one track and nothing more , never in my life have I seen such a fuss about the lack of a demo !
It's On! / It's Off! / We Don't Know! / Maybe!/ It's On!
The message keeps changing. While I'd like to give it a try, and if I like it I'll make a decision on buying the full game, but at this point give it up already - If Project Cars comes out and blows everyone away people will forget about this game entirely.
The thing is, this game was one of the reasons why I bothered with Plus last year. Following a disappointing year of offerings, there was no reason for me to pick up another subscription, and this changes nothing. Too little too late.
I own this and it's fantastic! IMO it's the best looking PS4 game out at the moment. Should they give the whole game away with PS+? maybe a good idea, then hope players buy the season pass, sure good way to make up for the PS+ edition never showing up but there are AAA exclusives older than Driveclub that still haven't showed on PS+ so I doubt it.
But by the time it release, I probably can get the full game at half price..
