We quite liked Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD when it launched on PlayStation 3 and Vita last year. The PS2 classics have aged surprisingly well, with the first game's often emotional story still managing to hold its own. If your hunger for teen romance and rather epic boss battles hasn't yet been sated, however, you'll be happy to know that the PlayStation 4 version of the remaster will be releasing on 12th May in North America and 15th May in Europe.
Priced at $49.99/£39.99 at retail and on the PlayStation Store, pre-ordering the physical box will net you a limited edition, that contains a steelbook which features artwork from Yoshitaka Amano, the man behind many of the franchise's most iconic images.

Eh, my PS3 version suits me fine. If I hadn't gotten it, I'd definitely be up for it.
I don't think I'll be picking this up for ps4. I did for Vita but didn't enjoy it as much as I did back in the day. Maybe in a few years I'll be inclined to pick it up.
Would like to know when FF7 HD is due though?
Still didn't start the version on my Vita but I think that I will buy this version also. I prefer to play on the PS4 on a big screen.
@kyleforrester87 I don't want to be the destroyer of hope, but they aren't releasing a ff7 hd anytime soon. The ff7 they announced is just a re-release of the pc port, which just had a slightly higher resolution than the original. Not updated graphics.

Sorry but isn't this ten bucks higher than the PS3 remaster?
@ztpayne7
That's actually what I meant by HD I appreciate it's not much of an improvement but my TV (and TV's generally) have gotten too big to really appreciate playing FF7 on anything other than a handheld so any kind of upscale would be nice. Plus I'm not really one for chasing trophies but I'd make an exception for this if the game supports them - I understand the Steam version has achievements, so fingers crossed.
While I have little interest in this, it makes me much more convinced that the Kingdom Hearts remasters will be coming to the PS4.
Looking forward to this game. Over 8 years ago I played it so yep I'll grab it.

Next gen tax
I'm a few hours into the Vita version. It's ok so far but the way their mouths move during cutscenes really throws me off. It's not even close to being synced with the voices. I know it probably is with the Japanese voices, but still...
I've already got this for my Vita, where I've notched up numerous victories of Blitzball for those impressive new move.
I'm still eagerly awaiting for SE to announce a FFXII remaster. I'd sell my soul for that one!
Improved performance or graphics or anything compared to PS3 version?
I actually held off the PS3 and Vita versions for this so I guess this will be the year.
49.99 seems overpriced since the ps3 versions were 39.99
I'll probably buy this PS4 port eventually, even though I already own the PS3 version, but it won't be anytime soon, it's definitely low priority for me.
I felt it was just perfect on the vita. I may get this some day down the line, but as it stands, i'll sit on my hands for this release.
I skipped this on PS3, and now I'm glad I did. That said, I'll wait till there's a $30 PSN sale and I'll download that sucker.
@NomNom
I felt the same way. I am fine with my Vita version that only cost me $20. This $40 crap is nonsense.
