This is a pleasant surprise isn't it? Wolfenstein: The New Order released on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 last year, and was met with a positive response from both critics and players.
If you enjoyed the rather refined first-person shooter, then you'll be delighted to know that there's a standalone DLC coming on the 5th May. Named The Old Blood, the new adventure takes protagonist BJ Blazkowicz back to 1946, as you gun your way into the events that lead to the main game. It's worth pointing out, however, that this download will be available only on the PS4, with no mention of a PS3 version.
The content will be priced at $19.99, and promises to be quite meaty, featuring eight new chapters to blitz through. Is this good news to you? Load up your favourite Nazi-killing rifle and head into the warzone that is the comments section below.

My little brother will be extremely happy.
This looks beyond awesome, already hyped.
I kind of feel like this is how DLC should be done. It sounds quite lengthy, it's standalone, and it's got a good trailer that shows everything you can expect.
Well then. This is a nice thing to wake up to.
Yeah, so, The New Order was one of the most surprising and best shooters last year that I've played in recent memory, so color me hyped for this unexpected DLC. Really cool that it's a prequel, too! Looks like this will be worth the hefty price since the time period allows for new weapons, an awesome, classic setting, etc. I'll definitely be downloading this day one!
It is 20 bucks, but it's also more of an old school expansion pack than DLC that gives you two new skins and a single map every month.
Bethesda showing it's PC roots.
While it was somewhat enjoyable I have no interest to fork out for additional chapters. They should have named it the almost new order. Completely agree with what @ShogunRok said though.
Definitely getting this, as I really enjoyed The New Order.
Hyped! Will buy
Cool, the new order was great
Now THIS is how you should do DLC.
Well done, Bethesda.
Awesome, got New order though i've hardly touched it yet - but i'm looking forward to grabbing this as well for a nice wolfy marathon
Definitely picking this up, only picked up & finished The New Order late last week. Interested to know if it will be coming out on disc as well like First Light for example.
I've been thinking of playing the new order again, just to see what happens if I don't save the pilot, doubt much changes but curiosity is my addiction.
Maybe. I enjoyed Wolfenstein but it was about an hour too long.
The new order was my favourite game of last year by a long way. It's nice to see a good, story driven game that's well written and fun without tacked On multiplayer and irritating online features. Bethesda played a blinder with this one and I'll be picking up the DLC day one.
The New Order was good old fashioned fun if somewhat limited by most FPS games these days - It only has a campaign. In terms of value it worked out as my most expensive purchase of last year (cost per hour) but it was enjoyable. If the Old Blood offers the same game play and fun (which I expect it will) then this will certainly be on my watch list. It will depend on price and duration - I am not paying £20 for 5hrs with no replay value - TNO offered an alternative time line playthrough - which reminds me, I must finish my Uber difficulty run for 100% completion.... I try and aim for a max £1 per hour - Its NOT the only consideration but just 1 factor I use to justify buying a game.
I know this is a 'Stand Alone' but hope there is some connection between the two games for those that have TNO - some thing carried over - extra weapons maybe and unlocked ones from this can be used in TNO???
