The PlayStation Network has been sturdier than Novak Djokovic's glutes of late, but we've been saying for a while that the worst part of Sony's server woes is the lack of communication from the company in the know. Take the infamous Christmas outage, for example – it took days for the platform holder to acknowledge the problem, leaving consumers scouring various Twitter accounts for updates.
Hopefully there'll never be another issue quite like that, but if there is, the Japanese giant has now created a PSN server status page in the United States. This includes information on all of the firm's various services – from PlayStation Now to PlayStation Vue – and even breaks down specific portions of the network that may be creaking, such as PlayStation Store search or account creation. Pretty neat, eh?
To be fair, this is something that should have existed a long time ago, and perhaps won't solve the company's occasional periods of absolute silence. It is, however, a step forward – fingers crossed it'll be rolled out globally soon.

Very interesting, what remains is: will they really update the truth behind the problem when a shortage occur?
Every time there is PSN outage this website will be down due to a DDoS attack.
Wow about time, hopefully Europe will follow suit...
If you're in the UK though you can use this (plus for Xbox Live etc):

Though not as detailed I have been using this page below for years for the status of the PlayStation Network.
