I'll be cringing/chortling through some God awful dialogue as I wrap up my time with Resident Evil Revelations 2 this weekend. I feel like Capcom's really struck a happy medium with this instalment, and it's ultimately much greater than the sum of its decaying parts.

This weekend feels like a bit of a dream, as I'm actually playing something related to Final Fantasy XV – y'know, that game that was announced almost ten years ago. I've been left quite impressed by the scale of the Episode Duscae demo, and I'll be exploring every nook and cranny before I post my thoughts on Push Square at some point this weekend.

Woop, woop. That's not only the sound of the police, but also of my weekend, as I'll be spending it on both sides of the law in Battlefield Hardline. Having only put a little time into the multiplayer so far, I can't help but feel the smaller scale of Hardline has robbed it somewhat of what makes a Battlefield game great. The chance of feeling lost in a massive battle just isn't there for me so far, but hopefully this will change once I've spent a few more hours on duty.

Heading towards the release of Bloodborne, I figured that it'd be fun to get into the mood of being mercilessly killed over and over, so I've decided to dive back into Alien: Isolation. I've spent a few months away from the title, so this should prove good preparation.

Besides The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, I might dip my toes again in a bit of Demon's Souls to prepare me for the psychological beating that I'll be sure to receive while playing Bloodborne next week. Even then, I don't think I'll be ready for what's coming...

This weekend I'll be clocking in time with the recently released Resident Evil Revelations 2. Alongside that, I'll probably continue playing Grand Theft Auto Online's Heists. All good stuff.
Yesterday was Friday, today is Saturday. We're gonna live like there's no tomorrow – wouldn't have it any other way. So, er, what are you playing? Let us know in the comments section below.

LittleBig Planet 3, so far "just" 2 game break glitches (had to restart the game), but some more and I give up on this...
@ferrers405 I'm shocked to hear about the problems with LBP3. I honestly never had a single problem with it myself, but I know lots of people have.
The Walking Dead:Season Two on Xbox 360
Little big planet vita and playstation all stars vita. I'm also gonna finish evolve platinum today
Think I'll play some sleeping dogs on ps4 in between watching the rugby! Cmon Wales lol
I'll be finishing up Assassin's Creed Unity and hopefully Dying Light as well. Maybe a tiny bit of either Destiny or Advanced Warfare, and then hopefully some Majora's Mask 3D before or after I get back from going out with the friends tonight. There's too much side crap to do in Unity, so I'm just rushing through the story and uninstalling. I like the story, but even after the patch and bug fixes, I still hate the stripped down gameplay and I probably won't be buying another AC game. Dying Light I've sat too long on finishing it, so I really could care less about the side stuff I haven't finished. I won't care about either games come Monday because my time from then on will be wrapped up in Bloodborne and Borderlands.
Valkyria Chronicles is just so darned good. That's how much I care about next-gen gaming.... PLEASE GIVE US A PS4 REMASTER!!! The hair aliasing/artifacting drives me nuts sometimes but how great would that game be without any graphical glitches whatsoever..
@get2sammyb - I started LBP3 and got stuck at that pit glitch where you cant rewind. And I cant access anything in create mode either. My kids playing co-op seem to be ok, but theyve moved on, one of the problems of so many Chrstmas gift games. They finally got Kaos Trap on Thursday so theyre back to that.
Oh, and weve all been playing Hyrule Warriors destroying everything in our path as Ganon, trying to earn the giant playable Cuoco.
I played the FFXV episode duscae demo and absolutely loved it. I would be THRILLED to have a 2015 release, but I know sammy will tell me I'm crazy.
I also finished the other game I've been playing - MGS4. I've only played 1, 2, and 4, but I thought it was brilliant. I thought it had the right amount of fun, I like the amount of styles it allows you to play, and I even thought they explained a ton of stuff. I really liked 1 and I "liked" 2 (gameplay was fun, but the story was just really out there sometimes), but I felt like 4 did a great job of bringing the story together. That, and it had the right amount serious and the right amount comedy.
The big question is: what's next? Options include Shadow of Mordor, KH 2 HD, Type-O, God of War 3...(these are all games I own but haven't played since I bought them)
@ztpayne7 Didn't they specifically say it wouldn't be this year?
@Jaz007 What? No way. It has to come out this year!
I don't think it's due out this year.
finishing Saints Row IV on PS4, it's so damn fun.
@Superstick Actually, I think I misremembered this article as offical confirmation when it wasn't. I doubt it'll come out this year, but we can still hope now.
@Jaz007 I suppose so. If it does release this year, it'll be very close to the end of the year. I'm ok with it releasing next year as long as they polish it up. I haven't played a Final Fantasy game before and XV interests me the most. I guess while I wait, I should try Type-0 HD...
@rjejr A giant, playable Cuoco, eh?
@get2sammyb - You can't possibly expect me to know how to spell that. Next time I'm just writing "chicken"
Perfect gif though, good to see you expanding your horizons.
Going to doing a play through of The Walking Dead Season One on PS4 so that way I can finally start Season 2.
Tonight I will be getting together with some coworkers for some multiplayer madness which means Jamestown on the PS4 and Smash Bros on the Wii U
Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, Final Fantasy XV Episode Duscae and Dragon Ball XenoVerse
that's my weekend set
also watching Bones on DVD
I've mostly been playing Tekken these past few days when I've felt like playing a game. I might try to do an online round of Ratchet and Clank A 4 One so I can get the trophies for it.
Playing Fifa 15 like usually
don't even like it to much.
But next week borderlands woohoo!!
I just got destiny and I'll try to sink my teeth into that. Also some helldivers and xenoverse. I have such a backlog I need to handle too. Still have majoras mask, bayonetta 2 and persona 4 on vita I still need to get too.
Dying Light and Devil May Cry
I'm 19 hours into type-0, honestly enjoying it alot more than I thought I would (and I thought i'd enjoy it alot!) and fortunately no problems with the motion blur making me feel ill. Just started chapter 4.
I played some of FF15, I'm not really sure what to make of it.. I do know that the framerate is pretty horrible in parts. I'm hoping they work on that before release. I do understand they will be putting it through a newer version of the development engine which should hopefully help optimise it, though. I'll give it a good long run once I'm done witht type 0.
quality time with the girlfriend! And maybe sunday night some helldivers and driveclub!
It's all about helldivers for me this week. loving that game.
With a side order of surgeon simulator courtesy of the us flash sale... So much fun after a few beers!
Just finished valiant hearts (brilliant story and great atmosphere) one of the best games I have played in recent times - I actually read every history item and looked at every pickup. Tonight I'm upto the bevelle temple in ffx, might play that before getting zero on Monday. (working sucks)
@themcnoisy valiant hearts is great isn't it, the ending is the nuts. One of those games I doubt I'll play again but glad I did once.
@kyleforrester87 exactly, that ending. It all brings the horrors of war to life - everone should play it.
I just started counterspy on my Vita and actually really like it. I'll being playing that and of course more call of duty.
Driveclub and Dying Light for me. Oh, and a spot of Ar Tonelico on PS3. Perhaps a wee bit of FFX on the bus
@kyleforrester87
Yeah I agree, a memorable play through for the story but not enough gameplay to make me want to go back through to clean up the trophies. A thoroughly enjoyable one and done though
I'll be playing GTA Online as usual. And completing some more side missions in inFamous Second Son. Oh! And I might get inFamous First Light too.
For me it's back to Dragon Age. I'm getting sucked in. May be my last post, can't put controller down, must save Ferelden. The elfroot is a lie!
Some more Minecraft and GTA, I can say that the suspend/resume works well with every game I tried it with
Still working on my first playthrough of Bravely Default. 50 hours in, all characters level 60.
@larry_koopa ehhh I got them level 99 and realised I was doing it wrong, I'm kinda stuck on the last boss without the right job classes levelled. And I've saved it so I can't go anywhere to level them further so I'm screwed! Thinking about putting the difficulty down to easy just to finish it off, I don't think i could handle doing it all again any time soon. Can't wait for Bravely Second though.
Im also trying to finish bravely default !
Resident Evil: Revelations 2
Tales from the Borderlands Episode 2
To all those complaining about why isn't it in the EU just create a secondary US account and enjoy the amazing exchange rates. Simples. .
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate
Just made it to G rank, crafted a brand new G armor set from the carcasses of the Seregios I slaughtered and upgraded my glaive to purple sharpness and 800 raw damage.
Over 200 hours in and I feel like I just started playing yesterday. I topped out at 600 hours in MH3U but this one looks like I may very well break 1,000 and beyond...
Destiny and Final Fantasy XV Demo
@JaxonH Never played a MH before but sounds good. Just read some reviews, think I'll pick it up in the next couple of months!
@kyleforrester87
My only advice would be to invest the time to understand the game- the combat, the crafting system, etc. A lot of people go into it expecting to "get it" within the first half hour, but that's just now how it works. But if you do invest the time, Monster Hunter is easily the most rewarding game I've ever played. In fact, this one here is officially my favorite game of all time.
@JaxonH yeah from what I read it will gel with me, I prefer something with more complicated systems that reward you the more time you put in. Does it have a good soundtrack??
@kyleforrester87
Surprisingly, yes, yes it does. Some of the orchestrated themes when fighting certain monsters are amazing. Yesterday I was about to undertake an urgent quest against an elder dragon that was threatening the village, and you could just feel the epic tension in the music. I sat my handheld down and closed my eyes and just enjoyed the music for a while. But, I suppose MH3U also had some epic music when fighting certain monsters- nowhere near as good as MH4U though.
You can unlock some of the tracks by beating certain quests, then go to Dundorma and sit down in this assembly hall and tell the felyne you wanna hear the diva sing. Then it's like a live diva performance with smoke and lights, and different buttons change the camera angle- it's really cool actually- just another small detail that makes Monster Hunter, well, Monster Hunter.
@JaxonH nice! Will be picking this up in due course then, thanks for the recommendation!
Ah, there is a demo actually
@ztpayne7 if you've played the others then you really really owe it to yourself to play MGS3. I personally see it as best in series so far, and if you plan on playing MGSV, this and Peace Walker are pretty handy for getting the back stor!
@SteveButler2210 I've tried playing three on two different occasions, but I just couldn't get into it for some reason. I was really hesitant about 4 and almost didn't play it, but I had gotten it at the store with this special promotion where I only paid .27 cents, so I figured I'd might as well try it and loved it. Maybe I'll try 3 again sometime.
I'm still playing Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, hoping to be done with this before Saturday.
