This author's never owned a scrapbook. Well, that's a lie actually – your humble host's probably purchased several over the years, but has never had the patience to fill them with photos. Why is any of this relevant? Well, because that's what one of the new features in PlayStation 4 firmware update v2.50 reminds us of, as the system automatically stores snaps of each of your herculean accomplishments.
Let's take two or three steps back for a second: Sony's obviously noticed that people tend to take screenshots the moment that they earn a Trophy in order to share the success with their friends on social media. Now you no longer need to be nimble with the share button, however, as the console will take a snap automatically and save it to your hard drive.
This is obviously pretty nifty in its own right, but the real cool thing is that the screenshots – as long as you don't delete them – will be displayed alongside your Trophies. We reckon that this is a really nice idea, as it will essentially allow you to look back upon your progress through a game, and instantly remember when you unlocked each trinket.
Alright, perhaps we're being a little bit romantic, but we still think that there's something here. The big problem is that we can't figure out how to turn the functionality off, and that seems like an oversight – after all, not everyone will want to look back wistfully over every Bronze Trophy that they've unlocked. Lovely idea, mixed execution, then – isn't that Sony all over?

I noticed that yesterday when I looked at my trophy list and saw a picture right next to my latest trophy. You answered my question though it wasn't the answer I wanted. So since I have limited room on my harddrive, what happens if I don't have room for the picture will I not get the trophy then? How do I delete them?

We discussed the difficulties of some of the nuances in the English language for non native speakers earlier Sammy... So "For the committed pot collector" probably isn't what I think it is now is it?
Please stop talking in 3rd person.
It would be cool if you could set it to only snap silver or gold trophies. Or even just platinum.
Every time I kill a boss in bloodborne I make a video to commemorate it lol.. totally killed the first 2 bosses in the game on the first shot too! Kinda proud of that accomplishment I've gotta say lol
@Boerewors No, it's not.
@Tasuki You can delete them by going to the Capture Gallery app and manually deleting them. It's not ideal, really - I hope they let you turn it off.

Than I know what I should do this weekend... Gaming is my passion and this sacrifice is a small price to pay
I love it! I don't hunt trophies but this is a very cool feature. Its something NEW and different that only adds to the total experience.
I have a couple of trophies since this launched. Most of my pictures are loading screens.
Glad they don't take a picture of yourself when you earn a trophy....mine would be me looking stupidly at the TV with a blank look. Other than this, that's pretty nifty, but how much space will all of this be taking up with the screen shots filling it up?
Cool idea. Kinda wish the ps3 had something similar because last night I felt so much pride earning the gold trophy in the last of us when I managed to fully upgrade all of Joel's weapons near the end in New game+ hard mode. Still can't get enough of that masterpiece. It allowed me for the first time since I first played the game to eliminate every infected including the 2-3 bloaters in the tunnel before you reach the fireflies lab. First time I completed that part without sneaking by all those guys, and first time I really put Joel's flame thrower to good use and it paid off! The cool part was hearing new dialogue from Joel and Ellie I had never heard before either after I took all of those fools out. Only in gaming can that level of satisfaction be realized in my opinion. Game on my dudes!
Is their anyway to get rid of the screenshot
