Despite the outrageous variety on the PlayStation 4 these days, the device is decidedly light in the racing department. Fortunately, indie developer Vector Unit will at least be attempting to fill that space with kart racer Beach Buggy Racing. Originally released on smartphones, the title promises "an action-packed, surprise-filled world of off-road kart racing mayhem".
It's not got the most attractive art style ever to be fair – think ModNation Racers on a shoestring budget – but the action looks fast and frantic, and, to be honest, there's nothing else quite like this on Sony's next-gen system yet. The game's been rated by European classifications board PEGI, so expect an official release date soon. In the meantime, just dig out your old copy of Crash Team Racing.

Wait 2weeks for energy(or whatever) to refill or ask 200 social network friends to be able to race on a new track and then pay £49.99 to add a few items and lives...
@teknium_ Haha, the developer's already said it's not going to be free-to-play, so no need to worry there.
@get2sammyb I was being a tad harsh I guess...could be fun to play every now again if the price is right
