If there's one problem that we'd point at Bloodborne – aside from those dreaded Defiled Chalice dungeons – it's the long load times. Sure, you can pretty much run from one end of the world to the other without ever seeing a stumbling block – grotesque enemies aside – but having to travel to and from the Hunter's Dream is a chore of the ultimate order.
To celebrate the release surpassing one million sales, then, producer Masaaki Yamagiwa has taken to the PlayStation Blog to confirm that patch v1.03 is being forged in From Software's underground lair as we write – and it's going to be a good one. "The update seeks to reduce certain load times in addition to performance optimisations," the Japan Studio employee said.
The patch will also resolve that weird memory leak that caused the game to get easier if you left it running for hours at a time, and there's also the promise of other fixes; presumably the broken lift leading to Ebrietas, Daughter of the Cosmos will be repaired. Great! I was waiting for it to start playing New Game Plus!
Just fix that lift and I'm good, load times don't bother me.
Sweet. Then again, it doesn't really bug me much, as I've already beaten the game. The only I'm really trying to accomplish right now in new game + is grinding to 1 million blood echoes in Central Yharnam. I'm level 104 on my character and leveling is soooo expensive now.
Too late, already Platinumed the game. Having 9gag on my phone REALLY came in handy though...
Look forward to it, though I've recently swapped the stock HD for a 1tb hybrid drive and noticed the loading screen to be infinitely more bare able. Maybe a cut of 5 seconds realistically but feels much shorter.
@Kosmo I'm jealous, I want to try and platinum the game, but the hidden trophy for the chalice dungeon boss Yharnam will be a pain to get, as I have no clue how to get the ritual materials for it.
@JesWood13 I'm ashamed to say I have turned to the internet for the Illhyl Chalice materials, but at least I was close.
The Defiled Chalice's bosses are a royal pain in the butt though.
Here's help:
The Living String is held by a unique enemy hidden in the blackest nightmare
