As promised yesterday, DriveClub's latest PlayStation 4 patch has rolled out. The meaty update weighs in at just short of 3GB – and that's if you're up to date – so it's going to take a little while to pull if you don't have the best connection. Fortunately, you can always whack your system in Rest Mode, and it'll download while you're doing other things.
For those that missed our previous post, this update incorporates a free tour event named Startline, as well as compatibility for a couple of upcoming expansion packs. You'll also get free access to the Ferrari LaFerrari if you've reached Accolade Level 5 in the Ferrari class, while multiplayer replays have been given the green light. Not bad, eh?

I don't care about patches, because this game is beyond boring.
Fantastic - this game is now massive and a supreme racer, enough to tempt me to pick up a top tier racing wheel (T30, anyone?) and finally lay claim to a more immersive experience than Daytona in the arcades - when factoring in graphics, tactile force feedback, playability and sound.
I'd love to see more forgiving tracks though, purely to floor the Ferraris!
@Gemuarto Do you complain about everything?

Unfortunately I have to agree. I bought this recently on the cheap as I thought with all the people on here saying how great it is I was just cutting off my nose by avoiding it.
There's something very basic missing from the game. It's fundamentally lacking in the "fun" department.
My fave racing series was Burnout. With take-down, revenge and paradise city all keeping me entertained for many hours. They had great soundtracks, slow motion crashes, and many features that, IMO, were fun. It wasn't just about finishing the race in first place or amassing points - there were loads of other targets and "things to do".
Driveclub isn't a simulator and it isn't fun enough to be "arcade". For me it misses both targets and feels empty. Shame as I thought I'd love it in spite of its dubious history.
Developers take note, Evolution Studios support for this game has been brilliant, patches and free dlc. Good work Evo.
Have to say, since its horrendous start, its got better and better.
Bought the season pass eventually, as found myself having a fair bit of fun with it.. Ultimately this is keeping me ticking over til Project Cars.
Have to congratulate the developers for sorting their crap out, game could have easily been left to die off.. Thankfully it hasn't
From what I've seen of it, the game is awesome. Someday I'll find a good deal to pick one up.
Tsk, I love this game!
Still waiting for that supposed PS+ edition.
@Neolit
You make some valid points
I just expected more fun. Not sure exactly how. I didn't think it would be like burnout but thought for what people described as an arcade racer it would be more addictive.
It's just not for me. I'm still waiting for a PS4 racer that makes me want to keep playing after a couple of races.
Project Cars is going to have too be pretty special to stop me playing Driveclub , sunk more hours into this than any PS4 game so far.
Driveclub, I ain't touched it since the semi pro cup. Maybe, just maybe, I will give it a go..... Oh wait what was that? Project cars you say? Hmmmm, is it any good? Push square 9/10. Driveclub traded and forgotten.,. Its a good in-between game and its playable. But when the big hitters come out to play its not got a chance.
It's a fun game if you enjoy racing games that involve a little bit of patience and effort required to learn a track and gradually shave seconds off your lap time, get first place etc. as you progress through the game (hint - I do).
If racing games aren't your bag, you probably won't enjoy it. Just as people who aren't big 1st person shooter fans are pretty "meh" on the Call of Dutys / Battlefields of this world (hint - I'm not that into 1st person shooters).
