Despite hosting its own press conference at this year's E3, it looks like Square Enix won't be bringing Final Fantasy XV along for the ride. Arguably the publisher's most sought after property, many fans are sure to be disappointed with the news.

Speaking in the latest Active Time Report livestream, director Hajime Tabata said that "E3 doesn't give us sufficient time to fully prepare. So I have been discussing with our marketing teams, and we've actually been considering Gamescom in August, instead of E3, as the target for the next major reveal."

Of course, this isn't the first time that the now almost decade-in-the-making title has skipped a major gaming event, but it's certainly becoming a bit of a tedious practice by this point. Still, we'll supposedly only have to wait until August's Gamescom gathering to get our next eyeful of Noctis and the gang.

Also, it's worth mentioning at this point that you probably shouldn't be banking on Final Fantasy XV releasing this year. There's been much speculation over when the title will actually launch, but we reckon that there's no chance of it hitting store shelves before 2016, especially now that it won't be showing its face at E3.

Were you hoping to see more at the Los Angeles event? Are you trembling with rage, or are you just accustomted to this disappointment at this juncture? Shrug it off in the comments section below.
