After the deluge of delicious blockbuster releases that have consumed this column over the past few weeks, we suspect that this little lineup will look like a letdown for some of you. That's perhaps a testament to just how much good stuff there's been on PlayStation lately, as this selection is no slouch – how can you grumble at Bastion, Stealth Inc 2, and, er... Krinkle Krusher? Alright, point taken – but hey, at least if nothing takes your fancy there's always Mortal Kombat X next week.
Pick of the Week: Bastion
Many apologies, Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin: seeing as you're already out in Europe – and Bloodborne has more or less rendered you irrelevant – we're awarding Pick of the Week to Bastion. "Indie apologists," we hear you scream – but look, we've been waiting for Supergiant Games' debut to arrive on a PlayStation platform for almost four years. It totally deserves this slot.
Bastion PS4 Review
When we played Bastion for the first time a few years ago, we literally gave it an instinctive standing ovation as the credits began to roll, and our pleasantly surprised reaction remains justified. This game is a testament to the type of human creativity, innovation, and wonder that are sometimes only possible with indie games, and now that it has graced Sony's systems, you can understand why it will continue to entrench itself as a classic for years to come.
Already a critical darling on the Xbox 360, PC, iPhone, and... the bloody Google Chrome browser – well, it's a mystery that things have taken this long. Still, the Kid's jaunt through Caelondia is still as fresh as ever, and its painterly art style very much a notch or two above the traditional 8-bit look that's so often lambasted around these parts. The soundtrack ain't half bad either.

I already have Bastion on the X360 (where I still need to finish it), but after I read about Tower of Guns, that game has my attention. Can't wait to get home!
