Another week, another edition of WAYP, another attempt at an "original" introduction. What Are You Playing This Weekend may be a popular feature here on Push Square, but by goodness, you try coming up with a new pre-amble each and every week. Perhaps we should hold some kind of competition for this – this author's fresh out of ideas.

My Bloodborne addiction is beginning to become a bit of a problem. While I'm thoroughly enjoying the game, I'm kinda looking forward to the end – just so that I can divert my attention elsewhere. I will not rest, however, until every Pthumeru nasty has been purged.

Having not played any traditional Japanese role-playing games for a long while, it's quite refreshing to get stuck into Suikoden. I'm almost ashamed to admit that Konami's series has passed me by completely, but I intend to rectify that by ploughing through the first and second titles on my Vita. I might even review them, if you're lucky.
Nicola Hayden, Games Editor
After two long years away, I've finally found myself dragged back into Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. With the big expansion Heavensward arriving in June, I've got two months to finish nearly all of the current game content. It all should go according to plan as long as I can stay out of the Gold Saucer.

This weekend, I'm writing about and trying to figure out the complexity behind US law in regard to video games and rights of publicity. Sounds fun, right? Unfortunately, I've discovered that writing about video games isn't always a joy. Regardless, I will spread out this work by playing some more Bloodborne this weekend and Ghost Recon Future Soldier campaign co-op with a friend.
What will be gobbling up your weekend? Are you playing any new games, or returning to a few old favourites? Talk the talk in the comments section below.

Damn the Defiled Chalice Dungeon to the darkest depths of Hades!
Had a tough choice today.. Asda had dragon age inquisition £32,a small independent dvd rental shop near me had got mortal kombat x on the shelf early and ready to buy.. But in the end I went for bloodborne so gonna be playing that and the handsome collection all weekend
Topping the leaderboards at MK, before more hardcore players start playing and kick me out of them
@Melucine That's the best part about getting a game pre-release! XD
@get2sammyb
Indeed, at the moment I am first at Klassik tower and imagine that I can't even beat the first oppoment at Hard!
MLB the show, ask me next week, it'll be MKX.
If you have time to review them, Robert, that would be great. Everyone tells me it's amazing, but I'd love to check out some reviews before I buy.
Playing Daredevil on Netflix
....Still playing Xenoblade for Wii (171 hrs) and Danganronpa 2 for Vita.
Picked up street fighter x Tekken on vita and enjoying it. And maybe some form of borderlands
Bloodborne. Chalice dungeons await.... Yay
Although the beast claw makes it fun. I love that weapon.
Bloodborne
Wii Sports Resort for the most part, until I'm ready to move onto something more substantial. I was planning on spending this whole weekend drawing, but I got sick. I'll still try to draw, though, just not as much as I thought I would...
@ShogunRok
I got into Suikoden late last year, and it was first time in a while that I really got sucked into a JRPG. It was fantastic, and I can't wait to play the rest of the series when I'm done (got stuck on a boss so I lost momentum. I already beat the boss, though, I just need to convince myself to pick it up again).
Wolfenstein the new order came via gamefly, so I'm playing that. Otherwise I'll play Bloodborne. At night, I'm playing final fantasy v on the vita in bed.
Ff type-0 , Diablo 3 and also whatevers out on plus.
Call of Duty Advanced Warfare to kill some time, but really waiting for Bloodborne to get here from Gamefly.
I'm deep deep into the Lovecraft flavoured world of Bloodborne. I'm currently wandering the forbidden forest and loving how the game looks and sounds. It's brutal and unforgiving at times but my deaths usually come fairly. Apart from booby traps, they teeth grindingly, controller throwingly annoying. I've also dug out my omnibus editions of H.P Lovecraft to further my need for tentacled horrors and humanity hating elder gods.
Pokemon Games on 3DS.
@ShogunRok Great choice man. I still have my copy of Suikoden on PS. I thought that game was alot better then FF7 back in the PS one days. If you do that review I would love to read what you thought of them.
As for me I will be playing the following
Wii U Tekken Tag Tournament - I haven't been this hooked on a Tekken game since Tekken 3
Dreamcast - Just an assortment of games really a bit of Crazy Taxi, made some Sonic as well as Blue Stinger.
I discovered this used game store in Amsterdam that has thousands of games including way to many gb, gbc and gba games. I bought lego harry potter years 1-4, 5-7 and skyrim legendary edition so I will play these games. (I think they had atleast 200 games per nintendo, sony and microsoft console excluding curremt gen, also lots of games for €3, the most expensive game was ssb for the n64, they asked €64 for it.)
"A Man, a Plan, and an Aerosol Can."
Pokemon Rumble World by day
Xenoblade Chronicles in the evening (Wii disc on Wii U)
Last of Us on PS3 at night after the kids go to bed
Though there is only 1 thing to do Sunday night. Winter is coming.
I don't know for sure, maybe I'll play some PS3 games I have but didn't played yet.
@Tasuki Blue Stinger! Our very own @eliotgballade will be thrilled!
@rjejr How are you enjoying The Last of Us?
(Double post. Hangs head in shame.)
We just finished the first part of our PES2015 tournament earlier today; tomorrow I'll be competing in the knock-out fase of our competition which became more than just a game because of the €700 prize pool and all the side betting that's going on. I'm so glad we could finally pull this of, it's so hard to get all 16 participants (old friends, co-workers and some guys from a gaming forum) to enter a tournament on the same weekend, especially when it's an offline event. We had a pretty decent sized tournament, but due to some last minute cancelations I just had to win 1 match in order to progress to the quarter finals. Hope I'll reach the finals, I could surely use some of the money for games!
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (260 hours in now) and a taste of Xenoblade Chronicles on New 3DS.
I have quite the PS4 backlog piling up since MH4U released- FF Type 0, Episode Duscae, RE Revelations 2, DMC, Dark Souls 2...
I'll get around to FF.... Sometime... After Monster Hunter and Xenoblade... Probably be around Christmas.
DriveClub, Assassin's Creed Unity, and DMC Definitivr Edition.
Destiny, MK X, DS II & Saints Row.
Grinding my way through Final Fantasy V.
Not much this weekend, maybe a little Resident Evil Revelations 2 raid mode but really, I'm just waiting for Mortal Kombat X.
@get2sammyb i hate this dungeon with a passion. I am on layer 3 and have been for a while!
@Mrskinner It's honestly the first time with this game that I've felt it's been stupidly unfair. I've had some cheap deaths and got stuck, but nothing like this. Not sure if it's worth the aggro!
@get2sammyb Lol yeah after living in my new place for a year now, I am finally getting my retro console arranged. Lol
Still playing resident evil remake, got most of the trophies including the knife only trophy.got bloodborne sitting, gathering dust until then 😉
Bloodborne all the way, it just get under your skin and stays there till every evil in that game has been slain, no matter how many times you die.
I have tons of plans but I will end up just playing Persona 4 Golden as I'm reaching the final months on my second playtrhough. I'll also fire up Code Name STEAM which is great after the update.
I wante to start TellTale's Game of Thrones before the premiere tomorrow, but I think it's a lost cause, as I also want to watch more of Daredevil.
I started Final Fantasy Type-0 HD. Not bad so far, but I'm hoping I get into it a little more than I am
@get2sammyb
The Defiled Chalice Dungeon is definitely the hardest part in the game, manly because of the -50% health reduction.
Playing Bloodborne, I love this game.
Just finished TLOU left behind so now back on the main story on survivor+ with Far Cry 4 and The Evil Within waiting in the wings
Final Fantasy Type-0 HD for the most part but I'll also play a bit of Dragon Ball XenoVerse and Assassin's Creed Unity if I can be bothered, I'm just trying to finish the story but it's such a chore to get though
Somehow I'm playing Simpson road rage on the ps2 with my youngest daughter.
Ended up playing an iOS retro platformer called Tiny Dangerous Dungeon. It's pretty fun, but I'm stuck trying to get the final key. It's a grueling guantlet you have to go all the way through and back with no save point in between...
I'm playing Dark Souls 2 (PS4) and New Little Ling's Story this weekend. I'm enjoying the punishing journey and I'm also enjoying King's Story when I need a break from DSII and also because my Vita really needs more love from me.
Just finished D4 now to finish resi rev 2
@get2sammyb - First 90 minutes of LoU.
Almost had to turn it off during first 30 minutes b/c I thought the tension would give me a heart attack. (Being a parent changes only added to that, its imposdible to explain.)
Next 60 were good except for my dislike of context sensitive games. Never played Heavy Rain (my 2 sons were young when it released) and skipped Beyond b/c of it. When Tess needed a boost standing in the middle of that hallway I had no idea what to do. Overall though it reminded me of the TR reboot which I really liked.
But my biggest realization - which I cant recall having seen mentioned before - is what big Joss Whedon fans ND are. We all know Nathan Drake in Uncharted is Nathan Fillion from Firefly, smart aleck and all, but this game is practically "Serenity" on Earth.
Joel suffers a great loss (M. Reynolds war loss), hech his daughter Sarah even has a Kayley vibe, who had a sort of daughter roll. Infected are Reavers. Marlene - head of the Fireflies - looks like Zoe. Ellie is River, have to transport the cargo. (Do you yhink Ellie was in that open crate w/ the green pillows on the bottom?)
Not sure how the rest will play out but those are way too many similarities to all be coincidental after Naughty Dogs Nathan Drake (ND ND). Had I know there was a group called Fireflies I probably would have figured this all out before.
Destiny of Spirits on Vita
WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2010 on DS
@get2sammyb i have now fought my way to the final boss of the defiled dungeon, loads harder to beat than first time i faced them! I will keep going though, the next dungeon cant be as.hard as a 50% health reduction and this is the last trophy i need for the platinum. Im determined to get it!
I really should use my New 3DS for MH4U... But I keep playing Valkyria Chronicles cause it's just sublime
I just completed my first play through of Bloodborne last night. I want to start back on Borderlands Collection, but at the same time, I want to keep playing Bloodborne because it's too damn fun, and the setting just pulls me in and immerses me too much to want to put it down yet. New game + also amps up the difficulty, so the added challenge will give me even more of an adrenaline rush than the first play through did, hahaha.
A combination of Toukidan: Kiwami & Lego Hobbit. I have really been enjoying both this week.
@darkswabber. Wow wait... Is it almost next to central station? Next to some weird army store? Has everything even SNES games like all of them?
Bloodborn with my New playstation headset!
@Sanquine yes indeed, in a alley that's in the same street as game mania.
Battlefield Hardline, nearly completed the story, which is actually really enjoyable.
@Kage_88 haha! I love that there's someone else who listed ffv as what they're playing right now! I really miss Snes final fantasies. This isn't the best one, but it's still pretty fun.
My fiancée and I started playing Resident Evil 6 together this weekend, split-screen style. It's... underwhelming.
I've been playing South Park: The Stick of Truth (PS3) , I just finished Part 18: Unplanned Parenthood .
Been grinding FFX HD all weekend, looking for that platinum.
@get2sammyb @Tasuki : blue stinger ? awesome ! one of the best games of all time (ever)
@get2sammyb finally beat the defiled dungeon! Now that was a learning experience lol. 1 more chalice to go! You managed to get past the defilement yet Sammy?
