Issue 65, already? Blimey, the weeks just fly by, don't they? We're now approaching a couple of quiet weeks on Planet PlayStation, so there's never been a better time to put a dent into your backlog. But will it be older games padding out your itinerary this week, or are you still working through more recent releases? Here's what our team are up to...

I'm playing all sorts this weekend, as I attempt to fulfil my review duties. First, I'll be backcombing my hair and eating doughnuts in LA Cops, before unleashing my inner-dictator in Tropico 5. It's the intriguing MonsterBag that I'm most looking forward to, though; my first impressions were pretty positive – but then I, er, forgot that I was on review duty. Whoops.

I didn't quite know what to expect with The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited. Was it just going to be The Elder Scrolls with other players legging it about, or was it going to be a vast massively multiplayer online game with an Elder Scrolls skin? The answer is that it's a bit of both, and despite it being a little rough around the edges, I can't seem to stay away from the ongoing PlayStation 4 beta – which must be a good sign, right?
Ben Potter, Video Editor
Yeah, that's right: I'm still aboard the Bloodborne hype train. My duties as reviewer may have been fulfilled a couple of weeks ago, but I'm still discovering new areas that I've never been to before – as well as their optional bosses. Granted, I can destroy them with a withering look at this point, but each boss downed is one step closer to the Platinum – and you'd best believe that I'm getting that Platinum.

I didn't finish Bloodborne last weekend as I hoped. Instead, I managed to disappear into a Chalice Dungeon-shaped hole, as I tried to find the point at which their difficulty overtook my skills. Unsurprisingly, it didn't take long to get to that point, so this weekend, I'm back to finishing the main part of the game. Well, maybe.

I'm in the midst of reviewing Double Fine's Broken Age, including the yet to be released Act 2. I don't really anticipate having much time for anything else this weekend, but maybe I can squeeze some Mortal Kombat X in there? I certainly hope so.

All that stands in my way of graduating college in a week are final exams, so to break up the monotony of studying for them, I'll be trying to take down The One Reborn boss in Bloodborne and moving on from there to see what other dreadful nightmares are next for me. In addition, I might throw in a bit of Metroid Prime since I'm doing a school presentation next week related to its developer Retro Studios. I suppose that can count as "studying", too, right?
We came to kick ass and share our weekend gaming plans – and now we're all out of weekend gaming plans. The good news is that it's finally your turn: what are you playing this weekend? Let us know in the comments section below.

I might take another trip through Yharnam at some point since they released the new patch. The load times were tolerable on my first play through, but got obnoxious when I started new game +.
Resident Evil: Revelations 2, Dragon Ball Xenoverse, and maybe some broken Assasssin's Creed: Unity
Persona 1 or 2 for Vita and maybe finish Okami HD.
i'll be jumping between Dragon Ball XenoVerse and Shadow of Mordor on PS4, Resogun on PSVita, Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution and Tales of Xillia on PS3, Mario Kart 8 on Wii U and Pokémon Y on 3DS
I picked up arkham origins on pc this week for like 8 dollars, an I never did end up finishing it on console so I've been playing that. I can't believe just how amazing this game looks in 4k with all the settings maxed. It REALLY gets me excited for arkham knight !
Also I'll be making the final push to beat dark souls ready to die edition on pc as well. I finished the dlc this week and only have 2 more bosses to go to finish the game. I really got into this game after beating bloodborne a few weeks ago. I still can't get over how good that game was.. I hope they have some awesome and long DLC planned for it!
Just started playing borderlands 2 for the first time. Solo which isn't ideal, but I don't like playing with randoms. Really wish I was playing on ps4 but I'm using the free version I got with plus a long time ago.
Bloodborne. Still.
I cannot get enough of this game!
Mortal Kombat X, maybe some MLB. Also, one of the most underrated games on PS4, Lords of the Fallen. Amazingly addictive game.
I'm still working my way through FFXIV's main scenario which is getting really intriguing now. 'Tis funny though that The Crystal Braves were formed yet still rely heavily on me whilst that little s**t Alphinaud does sod all! I don't like him.
@ToOGoodOfAPlaya you and me both. I'm at the final boss now but have found myself taking on the optional bosses and grabbing all the loot I can, as well as doing some chalice dungeons.
I created an alt as well, which I'll be keeping around mid level to co op bosses with folks who need a hand.
Mortal Kombat X
@Johnnycide Ive been running 2 dudes, a skill based and a strength based.
My alt has become the main hahaha.
Now Im to grips with the dodge system Im really seeing what is so good about this game!
@ToOGoodOfAPlaya I was a fan of the souls series anyway, but this is just so refined and fluid to play. It's a masterpiece. Best game on the ps4 by a huge margin imho
Still on a strict diet of Valkyria Chronicles and Xenosaga ep.1 and I couldn't be happier
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate- 317 hours logged since the game released 2 months ago.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3D- Just getting started. But still can't seem to pull myself away from MH4U for more than an hour here and there.
Mortal Kombat X single-player campaign! I think it's amazing so far, and much better than the original IMHO.
Also...the Witcher 2 on PC! I forgot how good the combat is, even if it's super simple (hit, roll, block, parry, magic signs), Speaking of The Witcher...both 1 and 2 for PC are on sale on Origin for next to nothing right now. Look into it, people!
Mine craft and Last of Us! lol yes again! and trying out some tower of guns, the screenshots convinced me.
Destiny Friday, Streets of Rage 1,2 and 3 Saturday, Magicland Dizzy Sunday and maybe destiny late Sunday evening.
Going to be checking out the new DLC for Mario Kart 8. Also might play some more Sonic Adventure on the Dreamcast.
Just started playing bloodborne and I'll probably need a bit retro gaming with super mario 64!
@JaxonH - Xeno starts getting interesting somewhere between hour 10 and 20 depending on how your progressing. You'll know, I'm finally excited.
Should be finishing up Last of Us sometime in the next few days. Mets vs Yanks is taking up about 9 hours of my free time though.
A bit of Destiny, I played ESOTU Beta for a good chunk of Saturday, I've now deleted it happy in the knowledge that it's definitely worth a purchase, it's not mind blowing but I loved playing it. Hopefully I can clear a few PS plus backlog games too.
@rjejr
I'm a level 10 and just got to the cave (ya, the very first cave they ask you to go to). I basically just got through the beginning cut scenes, delivered the food to Schulk, had the heart to heart with Fiona, accidentally had that vision holding the Monado, and set out for the cave- saved at the entrance after doing some leveling up.
That's where I stopped playing on the Wii version. I just wanted to plow through to where I left off so that when I do finally hang up the hunting glaive I'll be able to jump right in where I left off before.
Little bits of everything. Finishing up Nightmare mode on Skylanders Swap Force PS4. Sparkle 2 PS4/Vita. Started Shaun White Skateboarding PS3 the other day. Maybe MLB 14 on the Vita. Pretty random grouping. LOL. Sunday afternoon/evening through is dedicated to baseball and Extreme Rules.
Mortal Kombat X and nothing more
Playing Bloodborne, got blood starved beast down feeling like a champ, however drunk too much beer at the moment, woot woot, feeling of killing over powered bosses after trial amf error, gotta love this game. Praise the sun xxxxx
Out of freaking nowhere I have fallen back into the Destiny grind again. I have been playing my single warlock since launch, and I finally decided to start a Hunter and Titan. Can't stop playing again
@JaxonH - How does your 3DS battery not die, do you carry around a portable nuclear generator or something? I play an our of Pokemon Rumble World and it dies.
Funny thing, when I played that game on my Wii 1 year ago I stopped right after we got out of that cave. A year later - 2 weeks ago - I started all over again and rushed thru to get to the new stuff.
A big retailer here is getting rid of all their Vita games so it seems; picked up Borderlands 2 and Sly Cooper Trilogy for just €10 each. I'm waiting with the former till I'm done playing Toukiden: Kiwami, but I gave the latter a spin and I really enjoyed myself! Tomorrow I'll be diving right back in!
My PS4 hasn't been touched after I finished Bloodborne and I just don't feel the love and enthusiasm for the console I always felt with all other playstations. I play my Vita daily, mostly Toukiden which I really like, and I'm still stuck in the PS3 era with games like GT6, Ultra SF (on sale now in Europe btw, check it out), Southpark, the Tales of series and many classics I've returned to. I wish I could play these games on my PS4, but since I can't I begin to dislike my PS4 more and more; I sometimes just boot it up out of habit, then I scroll through the menu a bit and put it back off realizing there is just one game atm I'm not "done" with, and thats is PES' multiplayer.
I really hope e3 will have some killer announcements, cause the current line up won't do for me. I'm really having these thoughts that are completely new to me of selling off my PS4 and just jump back in when there's a library that will keep me busy for more than a month. But I'll probably hold on to it and see if The Witcher can bring back the spark.
Far cry 4 has won the backlog battle this weekend
Donkey Kong Land III (3DS VC) - Still not as good as the SNES trilogy, but this and DKL2 are a big improvement over the first game.
Etrian Odyssey II (DS) - I regret starting this when I'm playing so many other games. I feel like I can't put in enough time to really get into this game.
Mario Kart 8 (Wii U) - The new DLC tracks are so much fun.
Ratchet and Clank (PS3) - The only game in this series I've played is Size Matters, and I wasn't a big fan of it. I'm hoping I'll like the games in the HD collection more.
Super Mario 3D World (Wii U) - Still trying to 100% this game.
I bought BF4 for a friend of mine so we could play together. He is now only rank 7 and allready we are 1st and 2nd on a 44player server..this is going to be awesome!
My little brother got me wolfenstein for my birthday so Ill give that a go as well. I wanted to play it for a while now so Im really curious
@JaxonH I'm exactly at the same point as you where I left off on Xenoblade. I'm using English dub for some reason I do not know! Haha!
Back on subject, this weekend I'm attempting on the backlog I amassed. I decided I'm done with captain toad treasure tracker (for once, I don't want to bother with redone levels - strange. ) completed persona 4 arena yesterday
And today, I'm deciding between catherine or xiii-2 for 'finishing' and selling next.
@Liam1894 if you've got a boxed copy of Catherine I wouldn't sell it. That game sold really badly and it's a bit of a cult game, probably going to be worth quite a bit in a few years time.
@Liam1894
I use the English dub too. But I'm in the U.S. so the UK accents sound a little better to me than people who actually live in the UK (from what I've heard others tell me anyways).
@rjejr
An hour? Oh wow, might be time to snatch up a new battery from the official store. I regularly replace my Gamepad/3DS/DSi/Wiimote batteries every few years, and always upgrade to the extended batteries when possible. I'd say I get at least 4-5 hours on full brightness, but keep in mind I just bought it. I do however keep a charger in my desk at work just in case
@Johnnycide
It is boxed. I'll pay your advice to heart. So when I do decide to sell it - I assume it's best to do it on eBay or something? I'm no good at selling something hah -
So around 8-10 years of release, it would be worth quite a bit I presume?
I'll try hold off on it - I think I'm going to find it difficult selling xiii-2 crystal edition when I'm done with it.
@Liam1894 it's going for about 20 quid used on ebay at the moment, which is quite a lot for a preowned last gen game. Ebay is what I use, I tend to buy and sell on there a bit. I mean, we're probably not talking hundreds here, but in 8 years it'll be a lot more difficult to get hold of. Think psychonauts on ps2. Crops up on a lot of best of lists but it's not easy to find a copy for under 20 quid. There's people selling it for 50 or so, but that's a bit much. That's what Catherine will end up like.
@Johnnycide
And people buy stuff should prices rocket to £50?
Jeeeez.
I could just sell it at £20 and be done with it - only reason I like to trade stuff in, it gives 'thoughtful' and niche game buyers to get it and spread the word. I'm sure that there are some who don't online buy stuff to search for niche but who knows. Just my opinion.
I had a nice weekend of Breaking Bad on Demand 5 and Mortal Kombat X.
Bloodborne enough said
I'm currently playing Deadpool (PS3) , I just finished Chapter 04: Genosha .
