Telltale Games appears to have hit the jackpot yet again, as it's announced that it's teaming up with Marvel as part of a new title set to release in 2017. There's no word just yet on which characters will star in this no doubt narrative-driven adventure, but you can bet your bottom dollar on the likes of Spider-Man, X-Men, and more all putting in appearances.
This is actually a big catch for the company, as we feel that it's been coasting for a while. Game of Thrones has taken its sweet time getting going, while the likes of Tales from the Borderlands and Minecraft: Story Mode, in our opinion, don't really have rich enough fictions to challenge the developer – even if the former has been better than expected thus far.
Seeing as it's still years away, we doubt that we'll be hearing much more about this new project for a while. Maybe the studio will have built a new engine by the time that it's ready to roll. Nah, who are we trying to kid?

This... Could be very cool.
I just hope they finish GoT and Borderlands before that and put out Minecraft and that original project first.
@ferrers405 Haha! I don't think you have much to worry about there. They'll probably have wrapped up The Walking Dead: Season 3, too.
@get2sammyb in their actual pace of releases I don't know...
This could be awesome. I loved both TWD and The Wolf Among Us and really enjoying both Borderlands and GOT so far.
I have actually found Borderlands to be the most fun to play. The really nailed the action parts.
I'm a huge X-Men fan so that would probably be my first choice but Spider-Man wouldn't be bad either. So many possibilities...
YES thank you, finally! : D
I would really like for it to take place in the Secret Wars comic book tho..
If Marvel wanted to make a game, why would they team up with Telltale? OHHHHHH
I was excited until I saw Telltale was involved...
Not interested in point and click multiple choice games.
It's awesome, I hope it isn't about agents of shield, I think it will be a tie in for the cinametic universe and that the playable character is an original one made by telltale and marvel.
Also I always thought that if they would do superheroes they would do batman, especially since they already did fables from dc vertigo.
I am not sure an adventure game is what comes in mind when I want to play a comics adaption but it sounds somewhat interesting.
Whatever people say about Telltale games, they are clearly still a serious hot property, and there seems to be a LOT of appetite to work with them. They've made games tied to two huge comic series, one of the biggest shows currently on TV, and now Marvel! I reckon a likely collaboration at some point is going to be Star Wars. Going with the TV side of things though, I think a Telltale / Breaking Bad game could be amazing (although no spoilers please, only a few series in haha)!
@Splat No chance of it being X-Men. They may feature in it but they won't be the main characters. Marvel don't make X-Men films so they won't give Fox free publicity when the majority of people who play this game who aren't Marvel fans will be people who just know the characters from films. Best bet is Defenders (Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist to those that don't know) as the Netflix mini-series is due in 2017 or the two series that have films out that year, Spider-Man and Guardians Of the Galaxy.
@ToddlerNaruto The headline is "Telltale Games Is Teaming Up with Marvel in 2017" so, in other words, you were never excited at all as the first thing you read was Telltale.
Anyone else feeling rather disappointed wit tell tales got version, don't get me wrong its ok, but I much prefer the borderlands version compared to got.
It feels like the more games/ variations tell tale make, the spark seems to be fizzling out, still looking forward to walking dead season 3, even if season 2 did not live up to season 1, then again how could it?
This is very great! I really hope they go more so along with the comic books and less so with the Cinematic Universe. I can not see this going wrong at all. Proud Marvel is doing more with their characters.
Thank you Disney.
@rastamadeus I have eye problems so I actually saw the word Marvel first, not Telltales. I'm nearsighted and have a lazy eye.
@rastamadeus Movie rights issues wouldn't keep them from making an X-Men game. If they do more than 1 property Xmen would be right behind the Avengers.
Daredevil is a good idea. Especially with the current wave of popularity for the Neflix series.
@FATHASUN True, but they're toning down the X-Men comics and making sure the more interesting newer characters are Inhumans rather than mutants aren't they, so an X-Men game makes no sense as they really aren't a priority for Marvel any more (rightly or wrongly). Involved in it by all means, but not the main characters.
@ToddlerNaruto Now I feel bad, aha. Wasn't having a pop though, you just see so many people say things like that just for the sake of it is all.
@rastamadeus No offense taken, people tend to misread what I say and assume the worst.
I guess that's my fault for being too openly blunt and straight to the point.
