It's been a particularly testing week for yours truly, so you won't find this scribe complaining about June 2015's roster of free PlayStation Plus software. That said, the frustration does seem somewhat muted all around the web – primarily because this is the best Instant Game Collection update that we've seen for a while. The titles will be yours to download from 2nd June in North America and 3rd June in Europe, although Sony's rolled out some PlayStation Store update changes of late, so don't be surprised if they deploy a day earlier in the Old World.
PlayStation 4
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes
A game that proved almost impossible to review, Big Boss impersonator Ben Potter came back from playing Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes last year with an eyepatch-obscured steely glare. "I think it's brilliant," he told the rest of the office, "but it's basically a demo for The Phantom Pain." Sounds like a hot candidate for PlayStation Plus, we all agreed – and here it is.
Skulls of the Shogun: Bone-a-Fide Edition
Oh, the pun – it's splitting our sides. Skulls of the Shogun: Bone-a-Fide Edition is the ultimate version of Galak-Z developer 17-BIT's, er, Windows Phone hit. Inspired by feudal Japan, the title fuses turn-based tactics with Advance Wars-esque whimsy, and sees you raising a horde of the undead in order to secure your rightful place in the afterlife – by force.
PlayStation 3
From hit-or-miss Polish firm Techland, Call of Juarez: Gunslinger waltzed into the Wild West all the way back in 2013. After the disappointing modern day sequel The Cartel, this entry's bitesized score-based missions felt like a breath of fresh air. It's biggest innovation is its unreliable narrator, though, as battles change dynamically as protagonist Silas Greaves is called out on his fictional inconsistencies.
A game so tough it prompted reviewer Katy Ellis to leave Push Square, find alternative employment, and make a name for herself in MCV's 30 Under 30 – Cloudberry Kingdom may well improve your life. There's some crazy level generation algorithms on display here which means that you can make the game borderline impossible for yourself. The computer can complete every stage, though, so you just gotta git gud.
PlayStation Vita
Futuridium EP Deluxe - Cross-buy with PS4
Futuridium EP Deluxe graduates from the school of fast aircrafts and awesome particle effects. While it may look moderately WipEout-inspired on first appearance, though, this is more of a shoot-'em-up in which your ability to turn 180-degrees at any time allows for some awesome backward-and-forward dashes. Can you find the fastest route?
Super Exploding Zoo - Cross-buy with PS4
A game that's been present at every single PlayStation press booth since what feels like the beginning of time, Super Exploding Zoo is a quirky puzzler from Honeyslug which sees you using exploding zoo animals in order to off evil aliens. It's a barmy premise paired with some sumptuous Nickelodeon-like visuals – but don't tell animal activists about this one whatever you do.
That's your lot for June 2015, then – but is this selection red hot? Put your pitchforks away and post some constructive criticism in the comments section below. G'wan – it won't hurt!

Hrmm, one of the worst months yet. Not that I expected more, but it is a bit disappointing. Oh well, maybe next month...
I think it's a fairly poor month overall. I think they need to pick it up next month.
@thedevilsjester ... Oh, ok.
@get2sammyb Dont get me wrong, it may sound like I am complaining, but I dont really care what PS+ has every month since I have a pretty huge backlog as is. That doesnt make it any less disappointing though.
This is it?
@thedevilsjester Nah, not at all. I find myself in a similar situation sometimes... I have that many games that I want to play that it's hard to motivate myself to play games that I don't necessarily want to play - even if they're free!
While I find this to be a disappointing lineup, I just finally started playing DA:I, so I'll see you guys in six months.
I'm happy to get Metal Gear...no complaints here!
Some people will never be happy I had MGS GZ finished it and traded it, but im happy to be adding to my collection once again. I can't even count the amount of games I have in my back log spread across my PS3, PS4, Vita, XB360 and XB1. I doubt I'll ever finish them all
Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is the only thing I will download. I have Cloudberry Kingdom for the WiiU and the rest is just garbage.
I have never played MGS well except for on gameboy I think? However my cousin says that they are really good games. My question is will I be able to play this and understand the story etc? Because it looks a good game but I have never really played the others so not didn't bother with this. Atleast there is a game I'm interested in this month so I'm happy with that.
@get2sammyb I was wondering what happened to Katy.
Not too bad methinks traded ground zeros in a while ago but keen to have it for free! Not so sure about the rest but will give em a try...
I felt that selling MGS Ground Zero for what was it, $40? was ridiculous, especially if its just a bonafide demo. However, being a freebie, i'll definitely try it out! Finally happy to get something other than a 2d indie. Thought Sony was going this route back in January when they gave us the Infamous add-on, that was awesome. GZ is pretty much the equivalent to that, so I'm glad, but I hope they keep it up.
Better than may I couldn't even get one of the games to run on my vita.
A decent month...would have liked something a little bit better in celebration of E3 but I never bought Ground Zero due to the reviews mocking it for it's lack of content. At least I have something from ps+ I'll play in June.
@Bobbytheb they normally announce a couple of special games at E3 celebrating it. Last year's weekend we could download NFS on the vitaAnd think mass effect too So maybe just maybe
Ground zeroes is alright, the gameplay is good. But its crazy short. It took me 3 hours first time out, but I took my time. Its that short.
This month is disappoint.
Most likely due to most websites playing the whole thing up.
"Likely to get a big triple a release…" which we knew of course, was unlikely.
Still got the Witcher though, so this mediocre month isnt such a great loss.
Nothing that interests me, it looks like one of the most boring months, but as always I will try them all and hoping to find something that I would like. At least TESO comes out and I'll have something to play for sure.
I already have Futuridium EP Deluxe and Cloudberry Kingdom, I love them both. Two of the titles look like cheap mobile phone games, Skulls of the Shogun and Super Exploding Zoo. I do enjoy a good indie but I'm not convinced by these yet. They really don't look like anything special.
MGS is just a demo / advert for MGS5, but free is definitely the right price so I'll give it a go. Not a bad update, but not much for me this month. But we can't win every month so that's fine.
@NeverGoFulRetard I've played pretty much all the MGS games and still find the story confusing as hell, my suggestion is to just play it and enjoy being a sneaky killer.
Weak lineup. Nothing noteworthy for the Vita.
People are staying for the MGS it seems.
I'm afraid I'm not too fussed on this line up either, but that's okay.
meh! - No complaints though
Personally I think its better then lastmonth. It seems a bit more diverse. Ill definitely try out MGS, havent played that since number 2 I think
@wobrussell Okay thanks seems cool enough to me, looks a fun game. If I like it might get the next one.
@thedevilsjester @get2sammyb I think PS+ is in a wierd/interesting place depending how you see it. On my side, I have bought only 2-3 games over the course of a year and I also agree that PS+ isn't coming a little weak.
On the other hand, i barely have any games so all the freebies are welcome lol. I think overall the PS+ free collection is sub par.
Eh, Ground Zeroes is a good thing for general subscribers, a bad thing in its way for huge MGS fans like myself (because we already bought it ages ago, I have it on PS3 & PS4). Juarez is the best thing here for me but I don't touch the PS3 these days (I have a tiny room)
Hmm..got ground zeroes anyway..but it's pretty decent of you don't have it.
PS3 call of juarez i've played and didn't do anything for me.
I think my vita is gonna get sold soon before it's no real value..such a shame as it's a great system but woefully unsupported..i'm not really into indie too much.i'll stick with my 3ds for portable now i think.
I'd like to see knack as a ps plus game..wonder how much i'd get for my vita...:0(
I really don't have a problem with this line-up, or really any of them thus far. I'm still getting these games for less than a dollar each. Some of you guys are coming off sounding like entitled brats and you're apparently never satisfied. What, do you expect it to be loaded with AAA games every month? That's just not realistic. I also haven't played any of these yet, so I'm all for giving them a shot.
I can't believe everyone who posted is down on the line-up. I'm totally psyched. I don't have any of these games. And, the fact that the Vita games are cross-buys means I can get the PS4 versions, too. Sweeeet!
I love the quirky, smaller Vita games because they're easier to fit on my memory card, and I find myself playing those more than the bigger games, anyway.
@Quorthon Agreed. I don't get all the hate. Looking foward to Ground Zeroes.
Very disappointed, not that I really bother with the so called "free" games now, wish they would take £10 of my yearly script and I not bother having any free games.
