In what's arguably the biggest addition to the FIFA franchise in years, FIFA 16 will boast 12 women's national teams, which are Germany, USA, France, Sweden, England, Brazil, Canada, Australia, Spain, China, Italy, and Mexico. The sides will be playable in kick off mode, offline tournaments, and online friendlies.
The addition of women's football to the series is a pretty substantial indicator of how far the women's side of the sport has come in recent years, and it's bound to be a viewed as a promising sign moving forward. Are you happy to see women's teams taking to the virtual field, or do you wish that more could have been done? Take a look at the accompanying trailer, and take a shot in the comments section below.

The timing of any FIFA announcement right now is hilarious. This is, however, good news - and probably a little overdue.
Anything that brings us closer to equality is good, even if it is a video game.
I think, at the end of the day, a tennis game without, say, Maria Sharapova or Victoria Azarenka would seem incomplete. And while female's tennis is more prominent than women's football, this is an important step.
Thats cool and about time, but I decided to stop buying at 14. It always seems to be the same recycled game, do any of you know if there is any career mode changes? Thanks.
Its a start in the right direction but I wonder whether many people will use it? Kudos to ea though, I was pleasantly surprised to find this article but then again It was long overdue 😃
@NeverGoFulRetard No real details yet, but we should know all about the changes it brings by E3.
I would play it, goalkeepers set as ability level 5 out of 100 to make it realistic.
Why wasn't this done earlier EA? Women didn't start playing football yesterday. It's not exactly their fault more people watch the men's games.
@Riririn The important thing is that it's happening now. I imagine that this wasn't an easy feature to implement, and while I generally agree with your point, we probably shouldn't chastise them for getting there in the end.
@get2sammyb No, I think it's great too. But I'm thinking they still probably could have done it since the PS3 era. It's not like there's not enough room on a Blu Ray/hard drive. They could have even made it DLC in the past. That's what I'm thinking anyways.
It is hard to implement them into the game if you read an interview posted on eas twitter but they say its helped them improve the men too but I hope this isn't all a cover for not much improvement in gameplay and career mode cos it needs it
Wondering what the balancing will be like now.
I actually just thought about how I need a soccer game and looked up info about this last night. Doesn't realize I was stumbling across some news there.
