The Unfinished Swan is one of this author's favourite games, so we've been waiting with real anticipation for Giant Sparrow's next title. And with E3 2015 right around the corner, we've been given a better glimpse of What Remains of Edith Finch today, in the form of a brand new trailer and a handful of screenshots.
The game essentially comprises a series of short stories, each involving the death of a Finch family member. Each of these stories will look and feel unique – perhaps similarly to the way in which the mechanics in the organisation's previous title evolved over time. "To start with we're focusing a lot on the Finch family house where the game begins," explained creative director Ian Dallas on the PlayStation Blog.
It's in this family home that you'll play as Edith, and you'll unlock small stories as you explore. "The Finch family house, by the way, is crazy," the developer continued. "The family has been living here for the last hundred years and each generation adds on to it. By the time Edith arrives the house is an enormous artifact influenced by a range of eccentric, stubborn folks."
Dallas added that the studio's goal has been to "make the house feel fantastical but at the same time like it was all made out of stuff you could buy at Home Depot". He concluded: "And that's the game in a nutshell: a surreal experience that's grounded in a familiar world. The deaths in each of the stories are a little bizarre, but the really strange thing is death itself."
Count us in.

Keeping an eye out for this. Need more info before deciding whether I'm hyped or not, but it does look interesting.
