A small, relatively new development team comprised of former Traveller's Tales, CD Projekt RED, and Infinite Dreams guys has decided to make a game about the tragic sinking of the Russian Kursk submarine. There aren't too many details just yet, but we already know that the game will play from a first-person perspective and be focused on telling an engaging story.
Or, as the developer put it in a YouTube comment: "We are proud to announce that we are working on our new game KURSK, an adventure and survival title coming to the PC, Mac, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game will look at the tragedy of the submarine ship from a new angle and will combine first-person action with a heavy focus on a carefully crafted story and an engrossing gameplay."
This is a project that could easily land in some controversy, and that looks to be exactly where it's headed, based on the following comments from developer Jujubee's CEO, Michal Stepien: "KURSK will definitely be a game for mature audiences looking for a unique and cinematic experience. There is still controversy surrounding the real fate of this Russian submarine, and with our game we hope to raise and answer some questions."
The water's a bit murky, but what say you? Are you interested in Jujubee's submarine cinematic, or does this look to be in bad taste? Let us know in the comments below.

The trailer's haunting. I'd definitely play this, though. Massive potential.
@get2sammyb Yeah, it could be a very special game. I just hope they're classy about how they handle this - it's a touchy subject, after all.
Nothing can truly replicate the horrible feeling of being trapped in a submerged tin can, with rubbish food and awful dits. Its not the being submerged that's the problem its occasionally the food but always the dits. Oh god noooo. The dits. For all you civvies enjoy the game, hopefully it won't include the dits.
@themcnoisy Execuse my ignorance, but what are dits?
Cinematic experience = 30fps and lots of cut scenes.
I'm definitely interested in this. I love stuff that challenge history. Controversial = captivating
@Shellybird27 Sailors stories. Most sailors havnt had much of a life other than the Navy so the stories are just the worst. Some of the things I've had to listen to jeez. You literally hear the same thing on repeat for 12 months.
On a serious note anything that's based on a sub is good news, silent hunter was okay but an onboard story would be class.
I'd love to play these kind of immersive games on Morpheus.
A game about running out of oxygen and dying because of the pride of communist leaders seems very not fun but hey I bet people said that about being a lawyer.
Woah! Maybe after they can look into 'Tower Run' - "Can you escape the Twin Towers in time?"
It won't remain named Kursk.
@Eldritch ...Yeah. It's a thin line, definitely. I'm especially worried about the conspiracy bit.
@ryanorly Yep. There are going to be a lot of relatives who, I'm sure, still want answers. I sincerely doubt they'll be happy to see their loved ones used in a fictitious portrayal of said event.
