The PlayStation 4's still doing moderately well in Japan, despite the fact that it's finally been knocked from its perch at the summit by the Wii U, presumably because of several strong software releases on Nintendo's platform. Fortunately for Sony, its console still sold 19,782 units, which isn't a huge drop in sales from the week prior.
Things are looking grim on the software side of things, though, as only three PS4 titles made it into the top 20. Dying Light sank its rotting claws into 14th, Tropico 5 continued its reign in 19th, and Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory II held the rear in 20th. Meanwhile, Vita sales remain steady, with the handheld system boasting numerous top 20 releases.
Will the PS4 reclaim its top spot, or do you think that it'll slowly slide away? Browse the full charts, and give us your analysis in the comments section below.

PS4 will hold steady. That's not the console I'm worried about. My concern is seeing the Wii U maintain momentum. It does good in spurts, but usually slumps back down between long release gaps
Sees Wii U at the top...huh. I wonder what caused the spike...
Sees Xenoblade X released Ah.
The PS4 will hold steady. It didn't have anything major come out. I'm with @JaxonH. I would love it if the Wii U could make a turnaround.
Good numbers considering the situation
But i still think the all around numbers are prettt dire for Japan, the only one that has decent numbers is the 3DS but mostly because its reaching its saturation point.
Could the gaming scene make a (real) comeback?

God bless Japan.
Strange you'd think it'd be biggest country for ps4 sales as it's Japanese company
Can the Wii u hold the top spot for more than a week? We shall see...
@RawShark I was gonna post the same thing. How to raise a boring girlfriend... That's the best name ever - apart from the sub header blessing flowers hmmm. Vitas doing well good on it.
Has bloodborne been released in Japan?
I don't live in Japan so I could care less. I understand alot of people love JRPG's which we won't see much of given the PS4 sales so I do feel those people. I prefer western RPG's and western games in general and the PS4 dominates in the west and is selling in droves so its not like its hurting Sony at this point. Also the XB1 isn't selling at all over there so its not like Sony is loosing that battle either.
It is nice to see the PlayStation Vita in third place.
I was going to get a Wii U this year until Zelda got delayed until next year. For now Im very happy with my PS4 & XB1.
On another note, Im buzzing about the Fallout 4 news that IGN announced which came from a reliable source in Germany, even if it is a rumour. My only gripe is that Bathesda is meant to be showing a 20-30 gameplay video to the press behind closed doors.
@Boxmonkey It has, yes. It did well for a couple of weeks, but it's vanished from the top 20 now.
@JaxonH
Both consoles only do well in spurts. Overall, the numbers are pretty bad.
sad to see such a big drop for Neptunia
@BLPs ... What?
The Wii U will slump back down to second place, with PS4 back to first. PS4 has some good games coming out soon, where the Wii U...after the release of Splatoon, has nothing until Yoshi's Wooly World. So when the Wii U goes back to its drought, PS4 will maintain again, until the next Wii U game comes out. It's a shame that the Wii U isn't doing that good over here. I really hope for nintendo to make a strong comeback with their next console, and dominate the market once again! (To nintendo fans, 'no' I'm not bashing on nintendo, I love nintendo and want them to succeed better). Other than all of this, I can't wait to see the PS4's sales when Uncharted 4 finally does come out next year.
The Wii U console will stay at the 1st place for some time.. Not only Xenoblade Chronicles X was released, but Splatoon is about to be out soon and that will increase even the number of sold consoles.. I belive it will.
