PlayStation Plus

Rest assured: if the PlayStation Network's going to break, Sony will make damned sure that it happens on a Bank Holiday weekend. Don't worry, the service is definitely still online – but a not-so insignificant number of European premium members are reporting this weekend that their PlayStation Plus account on the PlayStation 4 has been locked out. This is a problem for all sorts of reasons – not least the fact that a subscription is mandatory if you want to play most multiplayer games.

At the time of typing, a thread on the PlayStation support forum contains over 50 pages of disgruntled consumers complaining about the very same issue. According to a report on The Sixth Axis, the problem may be connected to the current PlayStation Now beta, but that's certainly not confirmed at this stage. The platform holder, to its credit, has said that it's investigating the issue – but with the majority of the UK enjoying time off tomorrow, it's unclear how long it'll take to respond.

We'll attempt to reach out to the manufacturer now to see if we can find out any more information, but this might be one of those instances where the solution is to wait patiently until the issue is solved. Do feel free to drop us a comment if you're having this problem, though, and we'll forward all of the relevant information on to the organisation.
