Sales of the PlayStation 4 have now surpassed a staggering two million units in the UK, according to a report published by MCV. The console hit the one million units milestone in the region shortly before the holiday rush last year, which means that it's effectively doubled its tally in record time. In fact, the system's selling faster than the PlayStation 2 launch aligned.
"Reaching the milestone of two million PS4 consoles in the UK in less than 18 months is an achievement that we are very proud of," said SCEUK boss Fergal Gara. "To be the best selling 'next generation' console in Britain β installing faster even than the PS2 β is testament to an amazing and constantly improving product, the hard work of our trade partners and the team at PlayStation UK, and most importantly, the passion of the players."
Gara concluded that he'd like to "thank everyone involved in helping us to achieve this landmark", so give yourself a pat on the back if you've already picked up a PS4. And if you haven't yet β well, what are you waiting for? There's plenty of good stuff on the horizon, starting with The Witcher III: Wild Hunt later this month.

Really impressive numbers. Congrats!
It certainly is impressive. Its amazing to think that in a global financial crisis, the Generation 8 consoles are surpassing everything that came before.
Congrats to Sony!
What's Jesse Pinkman doing at retail?
Well, I've bought 2 so far. If there's any more awesome variants, I may add to that.
