Playtonic Games, the group of ex-Rare developers who took Kickstarter by storm two weeks ago, has unveiled the first support character in its upcoming 3D platformer, Yooka-Laylee.
His name is Trowzer, and in that classic '90s video game fashion, he's a questionable peddler with one motivation: taking your hard earned coin. Fear not, his fees won't be for getting past roadblocks; instead, the slithering salesman will show you some new moves – if you're willing to pay the price.
Playtonic didn't mention whether or not learning these moves will be necessary, but we're happy to see that the game's currency will serve an actual purpose and not just be a worthless collectible. Sporting a nice little pair of cargo shorts and an '80s mobile phone, Trowzer himself seems pretty cool, too. We're sure that he'll make for some great animations.
But what do you think of this new character? Are you hyped and ready to play Playtonic's spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie? Hiss an unreasonable price in the comments below.
